We all had a great stay and will return. The host are friendly and made us feel welcome

The property has a stunning location overlooking the Hour Bay Area. Each room is clean with it's own full bathroom that includes a shower, a bath and a toilet. The outside area is well maintained. Although the pool had a little sand in it, it was not a problem as it may be windy in that area.

The property can have a few more glasses. A gas braai will assist for those quick light up and braai moments. The garage could be made available to par a car, however, it is not crucial as the area is very safe and security patrols the area on foot and by vehicle

1- 4 rooms, each with a restroom, and the size was excellent. 2- Secured and there’s privacy. 3- Villa view was stunning. 4- Well cleaned. 5- Villa owner Claudia she’s so friendly

We couldn't stay and didn't stay

On arrival the property was closed up. No windows were open and it was stuffy and dusty. They knew that we were coming. They could have at least aired out the place. The kitchen appliances were scratched and battered. Everything was coated in a layer of dust. The windows were dirty. The swimming pool was broken and caked with sand at the bottom. The outside area was dirty, there was even a chicken bone on the paving! There were bird faeces on the tiles inside. There was no secure parking as we were not given access to the garage. The third floor loft didn't have wood or laminate wood flooring. It was concrete with a dirty white couch. The direct view is of a makeshift parking lot. There is no direct access to the street across the road from the beach or Mariner's Wharf. The beach is 900m away and not 100m as stated on booking.com. We didn't even stay for one night! It's all false advertising. And what's worse is that after sending the photos to booking.com and having the agent agree that the property is not as advertised (I have a recording of this), we have to fight to get our money back. AND this listing is still on booking.com!

They should please just inform that you book self catering but you have to share the kitchen and the lounge with other guests. The other guests come in at 2 in the morning they wake you up. Being in our seventies it was a struggle to get back to sleep again. The also charge R 210.00 for 6 bottles of 500 ml of water. They also don't clean your room or bathroom you have to do it yourself or you have to pay additional money. We had lots of wind and the tiles on the roof was loose making allot of noise. The fish factory also makes a noise Other than that we had a good stay,

ROOM in HOUT BAY

As I was working in the area, the location of the accommodation was good.

The accommodation is not marked in any way. On arrival, there was no one to meet me and I had to wait for the Booking.com Agent to contact the accommodation in order to gain access to the premises. I was then informed that I had to pay a substantial refundable "cash breakage deposit" prior to allowing entry to the premises, although no mention, whatsoever, appears anywhere regarding this - after a 19-hour work day, I had to find an ATM in an unfamiliar suburb, only to be refunded the amount 10 hours later. I did, however, receive an apology regarding this miscommunication from the establishment who promised to rectify this fact with Booking.com.

We were not happy at all. A complete misrepresentation of what was advertised on Booking.com. We refused to stay in the accommodation, Claudine the owner refused to refund us, we were a late booking in at 5. Not in the least worth the R12 000 for 2 nights. Booking.com was not helpful in getting us refunded either and they are still in possession of our payment for Villa de la Mer. Booking.com should take responsibility as they are posting the accommodation on their webpage.

The accommodation was not as advertised. The pictures are also deceiving. They claim it as on the beach which it was not. We were not informed that there was a live in tenant and that we would be sharing a kitchen and home with a stranger. When we walked in we were overwhelmed by the smell of tobacco and curry. The fridge and cupboards were full of his personal groceries. One stage he was frantically looking for his tobacco on the kitchen counter, which was removed by the care taker and cleaners. Accommodation is a non smoking zone. Our beds had been made hurriedly nothing had been ironed, we were missing continental pillow cases others had been used and rest un ironed. Our parents bed when my husband laid on it the mattress concaved, when i sat on the edge of my bed all i could feel was bed springs. There was no hand towels, shampoo, shower gel, cream or shower caps. we were all missing hand towels. There was no slippers or gowns as stated on their site. Instead a bar of Savlon soap and a hand pump Woolworths hand soap, old used soap remained in holders. our parents bathroom smelled of urine. There was no coffee,tea,or milk left for us. Villa de le Mer advertise vegetarian breakfast and room service, I doubt that was ever going to happen. The lounge suite was two large ottoman’s don’t know how we were going to relax and watch tv with the family. The cleaning was also very much in question and felt as though it had been given a quick once over. All the bathrooms were missing items off the walls either hand rails or holders. Mildew in the showers and the shower heads were dirty. The upstairs table and patio had bird excrement all over. The outside pool cover was filthy and I doubt anyone had bothered to clean it in weeks. There was only one garage for 2 vehicles, no secure parking for the other vehicle. we also had to drive up and down looking for the property as there is no name and the number is not as stated on site.

Für uns war die Unterkunft zu gros. Wir hatten nicht das Beste Wetter. Durch eine Woche stürmisches Wetter war der Pool nicht nutzbar . Die Ausstattung war gut .

In einem Schlafzimmer war des Bett sehr durchgelegen. Im Wohnbereich war die Glasfront mit dem Wind etwas überfordert. Es wurde der feine Sand durch die Ritzen geweht.

Die Betten waren sehr bequem und die Duschen hervorragend. Die Aufteilung der Zimmer war perfekt für uns.

Das Internet ist zu langsam als man dort zufriedenstellen arbeiten kann. Kochen ist schwierig da der Herd nicht genügend Hitze erzeugt. Die Bilder sollten auf den neuesten Stand gebracht werden. Auf den Bildern sieht es luxuriöser aus. Statt des luxuriösen Gasgrill gibt es eine kleine Runde Billigvariante. Auf Grund des Verkehrsaufkommen an der Hafenstrasse wird es erst gegen 21.00 Uhr so ruhig dass man in Ruhe draußen sitzen kann. Für eine weitere Decke sollten wir 300 Rand bezahlen. Wollte ich auch, hatte aber kein Bargeld und die Besitzerin kein Kartengerät. Wir hätten fragen müssen wie man zahlen kann anstatt dass sie gleich sagt, geht aber nur bar, Das in einem Land wo jeder Händler am Straßenrand eine Kartenmaschine hat. Wir waren der Meinung sie hätte es gleich erwähnen können. Hier kann sich jeder seine Meinung bilden. Als Antwort auf so eine Bewertung kommt in der Regel. Sehen Sie sich meine Bewertungen an, man kann es nicht allen recht machen.
