We booked a double room, with a bathroom in the corridor, but got upgraded to a private toalett and bathroom. A nice room in a castle showing the turbulent past of Latvian history.
The last 14 km, from the main road from Ventpils was unpaved. Travelling to Liepaja from Edoles castle will be a much better and a paved road.

Historic, different and friendly staff
We were the only ones and needed to change rooms because there were so many flies in our window in the first room. The staff was very nice they gave us a new room. Which was very small with weird spots on the wall. It was cloudy and foggy so it was a little bit spooky since we were the only ones staying there..
