Beautiful view, friendly staff, clean spacious room and cozy atmosphere. Delicious breakfast with other guests. We enjoyed visiting with them at the start and end of your day.
Restaurants are in Funchal which is good exercise to go down then up the hill back or by car.
I highly recommend staying here!

A truly delightful country house with a beautiful garden and views across vineyards to the coast. The bedroom was very spacious and had a good bathroom. The rooms which are available to relax and eat in were well decorated, airy spacious and nicely furnished. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful and the two ladies who served them were charming and helpful. There was a well equipped kitchen for the use of guests and the option of a cooked evening meal which we enjoyed one evening.
The location above Funchal was really good for us as we enjoyed the peace and quiet, lovely gardens and walk into town. When tired the return walk uphill was more challenging but the taxi option was very reasonably priced. The owner of Quinta Das Malvas was a friendly and hospitable host. He showed us around the Quinta and talked about the buildings and vineyards which was really interesting. It was an amazing privelege to stay somewhere so lovely.

Lovely guesthouse with comfortable room and good breakfast.
Only drawback is it’s at the top of an extremely steep hill so not easy for walking back up.
