We loved our stay at La Joya. Located in a quiet area, so don’t expect lots of restaurants in the area. Nice pool area, located right next to the restaurant. The restaurant served fantastic breakfast, cocktails and foods. All staff extremely helpful and service minded. The bungalows feels very private, with your own gardens where you can chill in the evenings. Only downside is bad sound isolation (motorbikes and animals, i.e barking dogs etc.), which is quite annoying during the night. For the price paid - we couldn’t ask for more!

This was our most expensive stay in our 1 month trip in Bali, and unfortunately the most disappointing! Both myself and my parents who were staying in a different room had poor experiences with our stay. To start, the wrong address is listed on Expedia. It brought us to their other location, and when i told the front desk she did not seem to care. The rooms need major maintenance. The shower waterfall does not work in both of the rooms so you have to use the handheld shower head. The sliding doors to the bungalows need grease on them as they are extremely hard to open. The water situation is not fair at all. They provide you with 1 bottle of water per room and if you use it all between brushing teeth, drinking water and the kettle, then they charge you. The wifi kept turning off and on every 5 minutes and rarely worked properly. The good and overpriced.I cant have dairy so I requested almond milk as I had previously, but they said their supplier ran out and they had no other dairy free options available. They were also out of all dairy free plant based ice creams that are on their menu. The neighbourhood is noisy, dogs and roosters screamed all night so I could not sleep. My parents AC unit stopped working in the middle of the night so they had to move rooms at 1230am by the security guard as there was no other staff on site. So he had a terrible sleep as well. The lock on the door is pointless and people can still get in with the bungee cord wrapped around multiple times.

This place was amazing, the beach is only a 2 minute walk down a path from the resort. Staff were amazing and always happy to help and the sunset yoga was a bonus. Pool area was so nice and room was frequently cleaned and perfect size for 3 people

Beautifully situated high on a cliff over the sea. Property is setup like a little village with each bungalow set in its own private setting. Close access to beach (stairs down the cliff) with bars and caffes Gorgeous pools and gardens. Feels like a private paradise. Helpful kind staff.

Location (access to Balangan Beach), value for money, and the design of the place were the main reasons my husband and I chose La Joya, and it delivered on those. The main issue is noise. There are feral dogs at the neighbor property that bark ALL night long. We told the front desk and they gave us ear plugs (no other available rooms) and said we could switch in the morning, which we did (from noisy room 10 to room 1, next to the front desk). Less dog noise there. There are also roosters (which you hear almost everywhere in Bali anyway), and doves trying to roost in the thatched roofs. Balangan Beach has a chill, surfer/Bohemian vibe. The beach access was fine, but the access stairs are not maintained by La Joya - they're steep and uneven. There's a field where cows graze between the resort and the bluff - you gotta dodge cowpats to get to the stairs. It didn't bother us, just not like the photos, you know? The front desk was super helpful--even acting as an ATM when we needed cash for a taxi. The spa was lovely and I got a great massage. Breakfast was good & large - you get a choice of 4 entrees included, or you can order extra. We ate other meals there too, and I thought the prices were reasonable for the area. Nice pool area. The place needs a deep clean. Bedding/towels - clean. Day bed/mosquito nets - not so much. Overall maintenance is lacking - many things need to be fixed/painted/replaced, like rotted decks. Lovely grounds and helpful staff though!

Bungalow 4 was 2/10, shower, pillows and coffee were great. Doors not closing, hinges falling off and deck boards rotted and unsafe. Complained and moved to no.7 in better condition. Beach is down cliff and too rocky for swimming, just surfing. Long drive to shops or kuta for markets. However, restaurant and pools lovely. Grounds were kept beautiful. Massage great. Bit overpriced for what it was.

We had the delux room for 3 nights. The room looks different from the internet photos we doubted that was the delux room. It’s near the road side,very noisy I can hear dog barking,motorcycling, people outside talking and their working noise(the hammer hitting ). I had very bad sleep during the stay even I am tired after sight seeing for whole day. The most unacceptable is the rain permeate in from the ceiling and drop into bed......me and my girlfriend have to squeeze into other side of bed. We did try the restaurant and the quality is soso if you are looking sth to eat I would suggest dining the dinner before go back to resort. The only thing I enjoy is the mixed juices....cold n fresh.

Highly recommend! Wonderful private bungalows, great view of sea, pool refreshing, Food is outstanding the Watermelon tuna tartare is best I have ever had!! Balangan beach is easy to get to, Good rock stairs, beach is beautiful with beautiful sand and many surfers, sunset spectacular. Get a car if there a few days quick 15-20 drive to Jimbaran go for sea food dinner on the beach great food and experience.

Great to get away from busy places. From start to finish, our stay was perfect. Staff very professional and friendly. Food was great, lovely setting by the pool, with sea views in background. Position was incredible, we watched the surf at dawn and sunsets..... magical! Rooms were individual and very spacious. I loved the mix of natural materials of stone and wood, and furnishings were well thought out using good quality products. Place was spotlessly clean. We stayed in the big villa, each room has its own private deck and garden area, which is kept Lucius and tidy. 2 big pools, which again kept clean and tidy. Short walk to the beach, where you could watch sunset and enjoy food and drink at beach front shacks. I could not fault anything here. Magical and peaceful.

Really nice food at the restaurant and overall good experience. The room did not look clean. If you move some furniture by mistake, you might end up bringing to light all sorts of archaeological finds. We had a couple with a newborn baby staying in the family loft next to ours: the baby woke up 4 times on that night and so did we. In fact there is just some bamboo wall separating the two rooms. I recommended the receptions to put families with babies in a stand-alone bungalow in the future but they did not look very convinced... The assistant manager offered free dinner to apologise for the inconvenience.

A little bit of night noise of cockerels and dogs from the next door village so I would recommend to use the earplugs, or just book a Standard bungalow No 7 or 8 - they are in the quieter area of the resort. The staff was trying to make our stay as comfortable as possible and offered complimentary service while we were there. The swimming pools are lovely and the food in the restaurant is very tasty and not overpriced at all.

La Joya overall is a lovely spot, where you feel right in tune with nature. The hotel requires a few improvements, namely the beds could be more comfortable with newer and better quality bedding, and it could do with having a gym on site. In addition, at the end of the trip we went through the bill, found a genuine mistake (someone else charging their meal to us) and were severely questioned about it (not the customer is always right), making us 20 minutes late for the airport and adding quite a bit of additional stress right at the end of the stay, and we were then stuck in traffic and very late for the airport. That being said, if you want a few days out of the hustle and bustle of a city life, it is a wonderful sport with beautiful gardens, and the staff try very hard to make your stay nice. It is a good 4 star place.

The resort wasn’t too busy which meant our stay was fairly relaxed, we stayed in room 20 which meant we had neighbours. Unfortunately the doors aren’t sound proof so it meant being woken by some inconsiderate neighbors most mornings - if we were to return I’d choose a bungalow by itself. Our room was classed as delux it was perfect & had a large garden, my only criticism would be the toilet which was separate to the shower & sink - it did not flush well at all & you’d find yourself having to flush several times. Lunch & dinner were chosen from the same menu which was good, food & drinks were a little pricey but to be expected in a nice resort. We also spent a day at the sister resort La Joya Biu Biu which was equally as good & would definitely return to both resorts!

We stayed one night but wish we stayed longer. Staff were cordial and friendly, and even though they were fully booked, they accommodated us in their large suite after checkout so I could dial into a a few meetings over WiFi until 2:30. They were happy to hold our luggage until we came back that evening after exploring.

Perfect place and location for a retreat.PROS:- Great customer service. Very friendly staff and safe. Forgot my watch in the room after checking out - the cleaner came to find me and gave it back to me.- Loved the welcome drink and massage.- Situated on a hill, with easy access to the beach.- Hotel restaurant's food was great.- Jimbaran beach is suitable for surfers (in case you are one, or want to learn).CONS- A little bit isolated (Not the best location for those who wants to party and go out) - Although there is a motorbike rental just in front of the hotel.- Family with kids (I don't have an issue with that, but for those who does).- Nothing to do with the hotel but Jimbaran beach just below is quite dirty - was disappointed by that (although there are other beaches around accessible by car/motorbike).

I would say the accommodation and pool are awesome, it is even better than the pictures shown. Overall services are super, from reception to restaurant staff. We loved the pool and also the beach (super sunset view) which is less than 10 mins walk downhill. If you prefer a quiet and relax stay, this is definitely the right place to choose.

Although the La Joya Bali Resort may not be as popular as its sister resort, La Joya Biu Biu, its staff provides just as stellar customer service. Furthermore, the La Joya Bali Resort has access to a usable beach area where you can swim and get some food.

Great hotel to ‘get away from it all’. No TVs, but does have free wifi if you can’t completely switch off. The bungalows are very in keeping with the garden setting, with two relaxing pools to add to the ambience. Set on top of a cliff, a short walk down to the beach is perfect to view the sunset with a drink at a local warung (basic beach bars run by locals).

Staying at La Joya was a treat! From the beautiful grounds and views to the friendly staff, we had a great time here and will likely stay here again next time we go back to Bali. The restaurant had some of the best Indonesian food we'd eaten all trip as well as a solid drink selection. The rooms had strong air conditioning - checking in and out was a breeze. We rented motorbikes for 50k each, and the airport rides were easily arranged (with only 5 minutes advance notice).
