A last minute booking. Communication was excellent and the owner let us park and check in early. We enjoyed a coffee at the cafe next door whilst they finished preparing our room. The owner greeted us and spent time showing us the best walking route to take, to see the wonderful town of Plovdiv. The hotel is on the doorstep of the beautiful old town. Breakfast was a very tasty typical Bulgarian breakfast served to your table. We loved our overnight stay and would recommend.

We stayed a week in the hotel. Dimitri was excellent from the time we arrived and very helpful. Explained all the places to visit and how to get there. Breakfast was good and kept us going all morning and also varied daily. Final day my wife left her phone in the taxi and Dimitri helped us by calling the taxi driver and got him to deliver it it to the bus station.

What a lovely place! The personal touch of a personally-run business, just minutes from the Plovdiv Old Town, so it's easy to walk in every day. But you also have quick access to all the fun and excitement of the modern-day Plovdiv entertainment area.

Staying at the place is like visiting your best friends. It is very relaxing with a great personal touch. The owner who wears many hats is personally involved in everything, from breakfast to room service. He was also our tour guide in the sense that he pointed us to all the best spots to visit including a concert in a nearby ancient Greek amphitheater that was amazing. The experience is completely different than a stay in a big impersonal hotel. Highly recommended!

The most spectacular stay ever. At arrival, we were met at the door by name. At check-in the owner, unsolicited, pulled out a map and showed us great sites to see, great restaurants to try, and the best routes to get there navigating the cobblestone streets in the dark. The whole building is exquisitely restored and painted in historical and traditional design. The room was very clean and fitted with mint condition antique furnishings. The bathroom was the only thing modern and it was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was homemade Bulgarian and was the best we had in our visit to the country. I cannot say enough. This place made me feel at home.

This hotel is just minutes way from the entrance to the old town, and also walking distance to the shopping/restaurant district. The owner (Dimitar) is extremely helpful and friendly, and speaks near-perfect English (he lived in the US). There is a parking right in front of the hotel, which is a plus near the old town. It's a great value for the money.

Very friendly and helpful hotel staff. He went the extra mile to help us with all travel arrangements. The hotel is also in an excellent location, right on the edge of the old town. Be sure to ask them to email you directions in advance as no taxi driver at the bus station seemed to know where the address was, and we ended up calling the hotel and asking them to speak to a taxi driver who was willing to wait and help us.

The Renaissance Hotel is at the edge of Old Town Plovdiv which is a very interesting old town to explore.We were very lucky to be there when a concert of opera excerpts was put on in the old Roman coliseum not far fromthe Renaissance Hotel--it was a magical night under the stars listening to music and watching opera.

The Hotel is located in easy walking distance of the old town. It is a small 19th century style hotel (5 rooms) with a Restaurant, Garden and Cafe. The staff are extremely helpful and are happy to go that extra mile to ensure that your stay is comfortable. I was in Plovdiv on Business but this hotel would suit most types of traveler. Breakfast is served to personal taste with a local Bulgarian flavor. Otherwise the Restaurant and Garden are seasonal depending on tourist demand and weather.
