Our room had a very unpleasant smell on arrival, the jets in the bath also had an unpleasant smell once turned on. The mini bar, was not working so we could not use to store drinks and the safe wouldn’t work. Overall the the staff were pleasant and very helpful

The bar had run out of key main courses and bottled beer. The swimming pool was only half available at the very limited time the children could use it - due to swimming lessons. Overall it was ok, but it felt really expensive given the negatives.

Nice room, quiet hotel, hotel very clean. Bathroom a bit dated. Comfy bed, would have liked a firmer pillow, as out of the 4 pillows, only 1 was firm and 3 soft.

Check in was painful, after waiting 10 mins for the receptionist to arrive, she was curt and a little rude. Room is ok, but no heating, tried calling down to reception but no answer, a call back was made to me at 1000 at which point once awake I waited for an electric heater to be delivered.

They presented us with a bill £130 over what was due, not only charging again for meal deal but not giving the credit for meal deal, so paying for food on top of prepayment. The rib-eye steak my wife was given has to be the worst I have even seen, all fat and grizzle could not get a serrated knife through it. Also fat still white. Finally, didn't get the alarm call we requested. The reception staff were lovely, except for failed call.

Forced to leave £50 deposit which was unrequired and on checkout told I was in a room with no heating! On late arrival to the room found the window vent open and radiator off, so a very cold night.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, got checked in swiftly by Emily who was absolutely wonderful throughout our stay, very accommodating and nothing was too much to ask. We did have issues with heating but the gentleman on the night shift provided us with heaters that were more than sufficient heating our room up perfectly. Room was spotless, cleaned by Beti, thank you! Buffet breakfast was plentiful and filling, everywhere looked very clean and welcoming. We look forward to coming back again!

Only went there to sleep between along journey. Very helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Slept really well. Quite a loud party was going on but receptionist ensured I had a room around the back of the hotel so I couldn't hear any sound. Nice breakfast

The rooms were really nice and clean A little on the chilly side but an additional heater was provided Restaurant food was extremely tasty but what let down the stay was slow service . Plus one of the staff were being rude to another staff member in front of the manager and public which should of been dealt with

Nice friendly hotel. Room 202 was an excellent Deluxe Double with a huge bed. Very comfy! Breakfast was very good even though the fried eggs were a bit hit and miss. You could ask for poached eggs though. All in all a great stay and only a 30 minute bus ride into the city. Local pub a short stroll away.

Hotel easy to find with plenty of free parking. Room was not heated before arrival and did not change quickly when reception informed. Restaurant closed too early for late arrival (9pm). Only alternative was slow room service.

Reception staff are lovely and helpful. Rooms are lovely and well designed and laid out. Clean bathroom with a shower cubicle which is brilliant. Room lighting options are possibly the best I’ve experienced in a hotel. Really loved the room. Lovely breakfast team with such lovely welcoming staff and service. The not so good aspects were that breakfast was not relaxing as some staff were watching/standing each time I got food. Very very off putting. I was staying for work but was my own booking at my cost as I just didn’t want to drive back home in the dark frosty evening especially so thought I’d go relaxingly the next day after doing some work at the hotel in room before and after breakfast and then in any space available after checking out. So I got a drink and worked in the space next to the restaurant dining as it was busy with lots of people doing work and meeting people. I sat there for 10 minutes and unknowingly the area was part of the restaurant so a member of staff came in (who was also part of breakfast team) and I could see she was counting tables etc so I said promptly please do let me know if and egff eg n you need to move. I was expecting to be told to move but not so curtly or abruptly. I was told 10/15 minutes please. Same thing could have been said politely respectfully. Just as I was being. Felt like school. Moved to another area which was never cleared from previous 2 guests tea/coffee for the 2 hours I was sat there. Went home with an unpleasant feel….

Have stayed here several times, rooms and hotel overall always lovely and clean. Reception staff very pleasant, bar staff on this visit not so. Overall our short stay was good, but had booked a double room however were given a twin room, but didn’t realise until we were actually going to bed later that night.
