We needed to be close to the children’s hospital but near to Euston. The President Hotel turned out to be perfect. Clean and tidy with great stuff but unfortunately no air conditioning which made sleeping difficult.

I’ve stayed many times at this hotel. It had a great ratio of quality:cost:location. Close to central London and the West End. Lots of nearby convenience stores, plus the tube. Only gripe this time is that the man wouldn’t let me check-in an hour early. The hotel wasn’t that busy, so it feels unlikely that no room was available.

Overall, the hotel was quite good, especially considering its location in central London. The room was spacious, with a wardrobe and a small but functional bathroom. I was satisfied with the hotel itself and the surrounding area.
Unfortunately, the biggest problem was the temperature of my room. I stayed on the 7th floor in a room facing Russell Square and the afternoon/evening sun. During summer, the room received direct sunlight for many hours and became extremely hot, almost like an oven.
There was no air conditioning, and the window could only be opened slightly, so there was almost no ventilation. The reception staff were very helpful and kindly provided me with two electric fans, which I really appreciated. However, the fans could only circulate the hot air inside the room and did not solve the problem.
The room became so hot that I had headaches and felt physically unwell during my stay. I originally planned to stay longer but had to leave after two nights because I could no longer tolerate the heat.
I think the hotel itself is good, but I would strongly recommend avoiding west-facing rooms on the top floor during summer unless better cooling or ventilation is provided.
