The room was very nice and it was big enough to fit an extra bed for our daughter. The only aspect which prevented 5 stars was that the windows are not sound proof and so there was constant traffic noise from the adjacent motorway. Shane.

Great stay overall. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious; although it was a little cold, this was likely due to the time of year. The rainfall shower was excellent, with fantastic water pressure. Breakfast was fresh and well prepared, with a good selection that offered just the right amount of choice.

Room was nice enough, but very disappointed to be charged £7.50 to park my car which I was informed was heavily advertised, which I hadn't seen anywhere. Not a lot of money, but it felt very underhand in the way I was told and charged.

The hotel itself is very lovely. Clean, neat and aesthetically pleasing. The rooms are spotless and cosy. For me, the bed was a bit too hard. Also, the duvet wasn’t thick enough but the cushions were plush and lovely. I found it hard to keep the heating on- it seemed I had to keep the light on for the heat to pump through the vents… maybe that was me not using it properly. Beautiful bathrooms, spacious and clean. Staff at reception were a bit sparse and we had to wait a while to be seen. Nice bar and seating area.

Check in fast, friendly efficient. Room exceptionally clean. Restaurant, visually a little tired. Restaurant staff absolutely made up for that - friendly, and willing to go the extra mile. Food was really good, small menu - but with our party of 10 - cooked to perfection, and served promptly, even though the rest of the restaurant looked busy as well. Bar staff, very friendly. Special mention to Jeven who kept up with our large group orders, in the evening (Saturday 1st November)

Booked well in advanced and they put us in a handicap room. Would not allow us to move to another room because it was fully booked. Like I said we booked 6 months in advanced.

Hotel, has limited parking, so once your booked in your there unless you use taxi in to town. Staff are friendly, room is clean. Dinning is limited menu, chicken burger was good. Only fault was, we asked for omelette for breakfast twice and after 25mins we gave up waiting.

Hotel had potential, lovely big room and very spacious reception, bar and restaurant. Negatives, our room was for 2 adults and 1- 17yrs old. we only had 2 towels, 1 cup, no english tea bags and only 2glasses. I was impressed the gym had a Peloton bike, it was a very old model but that didnt matter. No clean towels in the gym just a over flowing cupboard of used towels or not even paper towels avaliable. The barman was fantastic, great asset to the team, very friendly and went the extra mile. Unfortunately the beer tap wasnt working or we would have stayed for a few drinks. Breakfast was well worth it. Plenty of choice and well laid out. The car parking spaces are tiny! Overall, happy with a stay. Just a few annoying little let downs.

Receptionist I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name was very helpful with everyone’s room problems. Mine was lacking the QR code needed for room service, a previous guest or even before them had scratched the code so it was not scannable. Room could clearly benefit from a backup QR code somewhere else in the room on the back of the door. The two men working the bar were also helpful in me placing my room service order. Unfortunately the person whom delivered the food to my room was unwilling to enter the room with the tray and promptly handed it over to me, using a walking aid I precariously placed the tray on the suitcase table. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. I didn’t stay for breakfast so can’t comment on it. The next day I managed to flood the bathroom when using the shower, problem with the drain I’m guessing. The shampoo and conditioner were placed outside arm’s length from shower seat and above normal wheelchair height. Housekeeping had forgotten to replenish the towels in my room when I arrived, and were promptly replaced without asking within I guess 1hr of moving in. Venue had changed extensibly since my last visit of which I had fond memories. Somethings felt cheap and others for example the staff went above and beyond what was expected.

Having paid a premium rate it was outrageous to have to pay an additional fee to checkin an hour early for a room that was already available. The bathroom was so small the door was impossible to shut unless you stood in the shower. It is also very disappointing to have less than mediocre sandwiches for lunch in the bar as the restaurant was not open. How this hotel gets a Double Tree moniker I have no idea. We will never return to this hotel, or use the brand again.
