Pleasant stay

The hostel's location is very central and close to major tourist attractions, and it's very quiet and peaceful. It's on a busy avenue but is in an inner courtyard, which reduces noise. Just follow the staff's directions and you'll easily find the entrance. It's well-organized and clean, with hot water in the shower. The shared kitchen is well-equipped. The atmosphere is welcoming and the hostel staff is very helpful, assisting you with information at any time. The room is spacious and has a good-sized locker to store your belongings.

I had no problems at all. It was easy to find the hostel by following the staff's directions from the airport to the location.There's a supermarket very close by and affordable restaurant options.

Great stay

Excellent location in the center, close to everything but still very quiet place to have a good night sleep. Easy to arrive and find with the instructions previously provided. The staff was welcoming and provided recommendations on places to visit. I found the place very comfortable and I ended extending my stay at the time.

Although the bathrooms and common areas were always clean for the most part, I think the kitchen could have been cleaner or tidier. I'd wake up around 8-9 in the morning to find bread from that was left from the day before, or dirty plates, or the rubbish bin all full at the point where nothing else fits in. I think some of it might be because of other guests but still, I think there might be some points of improvement there. Nothing major.

A place that feels less like a hostel and more like coming home.

The people make all the difference here! The staff are not only kind and welcoming, but they also create such a warm and family-like atmosphere. The hostel is cozy, clean, perfectly located for city center, and full of good vibes. This was my second stay at Bongo, and probably I will choose them for my next visit too. 🙌

The Way A Hostel Should Be In Belgrade

Quite the gem of a find in Belgrade. First, it's as central as you can get, but because it's a house off the main road, it's quiet. Second, the beds are comfortable, lockers are large and automatic with a key fob and they provide towels. Third, there's a nice hang out garden in the back and a living room space where you can chill, work, or lounge around with other people. But the best part of this place are the two local young owners/childhood friends who took over this place about a year ago. Tamara and Dusan work and hang out at the hostel with the guests and genuinely just like the experience of running a hostel and hanging out with fellow travelers. I used to find more places like this on my travels around the world, but they are becoming increasingly rare. They gave good local recommendations and really show you what Serbian hospitality means. On my last night there, I happened to be walking back to the hostel and bumped into them on the street after they finished for the night. They insisted I join them for a night out and we went from one local dive bar to the next that I otherwise would not have known about or even ventured into. This only added to the charm and experience of Belgrade. I can't say enough good things about the stay. During my stay, I passed by a few of the other hostels that I had bookmarked and it affirmed my lucky decision to stay at Hostel Bongo.

Great little hostle

The staff were wonderful. They were so kind and helpful and overall great people. The location was great! A bit hard to find - if you use the address on booking, it will take you across the street. Google 'Hostel Bongo' and you'll end up in the right place. It's off the main road. I was able to have laundry done (a traveller's blessing) and it was given back to me all folded, which was so kind.

The AC in my room was broken and it made my room unbearably hot during my stay. It was supposed to be fixed my second day there but wasn't, so it was over 30 degrees in the room at night, making it impossible to sleep. Everything else was great though! Just way too hot to sleep.

The cigarettes smell in the rooms and the 99% humidity level; I even got sick because the humidity and i couldnt use the pillow because of the smell.

Bad

I had to leave one day earlier and they have only charged me one day. I am glad to stay there. Thank you very much. Moreover, residence is very clean, people are kind and helpful.

Very good

The way to the hostel from bus station is easy to find & follow through google map, the bus stop is also close by. The local fast food, Chines restaurant, groceries, ATM also nearby. The staff let you in and using the common room even before your check in time.

I met a lot of stair on the street on the way to hostel from bus station, so if you carried a big luggage just be prepare for it. The wifi on the basement is not as good as on the 1st floor during my stay and the push button on 1 of the toilet on the basement is broken, luckily i'm aware of it before I use it, so moved to others.

Everything was absolutely perfect!! Nothing to declare-helpful stuff (offered me unquestioned a second blanket, when they recognized I am cold!), super cozy and clean, great kitchen interior and especially the bed and room were really nice and quiet!

Overall a great place to stay for a few nights.

Despite being located in a busy part of the city, the hostel itself is located in a really quiet yard. Everything is really clean, including bathrooms. The kitchen is nice, with a coffee maker, a kettle and some tea.

Fair price, good to stay for the night.

The common area/kitchen was well taken care off, clean dishes, clean counters, the lady on duty was wiping everything. There is free laundry if you stay more than 3 nights. The neighborhood is pretty central, but the hostel itself is in the quiet courtyard, so not noisy from the outside.

There were no sockets by my bunk, and even though bunk beds have private night lamps, beds have no curtains, so that’s that. Some locks on the lockers in the room didn’t work (but I didn’t need one). I understand that you can’t expect much noise control in a hostel, but staff themselves were having a very loud concersation while most tenants were still asleep.

Staying at Hostel Bongo feels like staying at home, awesome staff and great people, the hostel is cozy, clean and has a lovely atmosphere! The hostel is located nearby many main attractions of the city, and all around you have everything you need at just few steps. I had a wonderful time, highly recommended!

it was awesome experience. A wonderful facility in the very center of the city. employees were very helpful. kitchen utensils allow you to cook all kinds of meals. There is a warm environment in the Rotak area. The facility has a beautiful garden. I will stay again when I go to belgrade. thank you everyone

My favorite in Belgrade

No surprise this place has such a good reviews. The place is beyond my expectations. They allowed me to check in earlier than I supposed to. never saw a queue for the washroom as they have a lot of them. Clean and tidy. Ample space to sit, work, talk. And, oh yeah, they use electronic keys for doors and lockers which is very convenient.
