The cottage was very well stocked, with more than enough quality kitchen gear to do our cooking, and with lots of board games to enjoy ourselves. But honestly, we stayed mostly in the upstairs kitchen, which was such a lovely space in the home: light, and with a beautiful view. We honestly wanted for nothing during our stay.

The house is lovely. The decor, facilities, and location are great. My favourite thing is the first floor patio area adjoining the kitchen, which backs onto sloping fields and a stunning view. We loved sitting out and having our meaks here. I'm sure it will be equally lovely in autumn, well wrapped with a comforting hot drink.
Tideswell is an ancient village, and some local roads are very narrow, which might make driving and parking a bit of a challenge if you're not a confident driver.

I think the host, Amanda, has experience of staying in cottages and knows what makes a difference, as many of the 'little things' were there, that are often missing - and they DO make a difference to your stay!
It's in a great location with a variety of walks from the door from 1-2 hours to 1/5 and all day routes (with one AllTrails route finishing almost at the back door!). Tideswell is a lovely village, and appeared on the BBC's Country File just the week before!
