Excellent Place To Stop In the Lakes

Very comfortable bed (and carpets!), brilliant stock in the bathroom and complimentary tray, excellent breakfast cooked to preference along with a variety of continental bites. Host was very knowledgeable and happy to chat.

The village itself has very little in the way of shops for amenities. But it is rural so that is mostly to be expected, close enough to other places if you have a car but if you are hiking it's a bit of a stretch.

Excellent

The hostess was incredibly attentive. The room was wonderfully decorated and had everything you might need. Clearly the hostess has put in a lot of effort to make us feel like we’re at home. She also told us about all the sites we could visit and the B&B is very close to the most beautiful out of all the lakes we visited.

The town was quite small and there aren’t that many things to do in it. But the hostess is knowledgeable about the region and guided us to what we can do and where we can go

Perfect home from home stay in the most beautiful place in England.

We had an amazing stay at Dale View.. Host has thought of every little detail and the breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. Location is fantastic for exploring the West side of the Lake District and is only a short drive to Wasdale Head if you're brave enough to attempt the Scafell Pike climb. The view of the sun rising from the bedroom window is magical.

There is absolutely nothing not to like about the property and the experience staying here.

A nice restful stay after a day in the hills.

Very cosey and quiet location. Clean and well presented room with lots of extras. Nicely decorated throughout and trimmed up for the festive period

Brilliant, relaxing and enjoyable

The Location was perfect - we were visiting friends who lived 5 minutes away which was great We had a really nice room with all the amenities needed. Breakfast was excellent too and we felt at ease. Jo was really pleasant too and chatty which we like when we stay at a Bed and Breakfast. We are planning to stay here again next year. 10 out of 10.

Well there is nothing that we disliked about our stay here. Perhaps the only thing we could say was the room was quite hot, this was due to central heating being on, which heated the whole house and was out of our control. Jo informed us that it would go off between 11pm and 6am which was fine by us.

Relaxing, peaceful, great host, just a really great place.

Location, peaceful and great views. There are The property is charming, extremely cosy and comfortable, the rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished with attention to detail. Plenty of information for guests about places to eat, drink and things to do. The breakfast options are brilliant.Jo provides an excellent service, I will definitely be staying again. Thankyou Jo.

Wonderful homely B&B and a perfect base for Scafell pike

The property was extremely clean and very homely. Jo went out of her way to provide lots of extras in the room to make the stay more comfortable. Her cooked breakfast was fantastic and I really appreciated she offers vegetarian options

Fantasic, ideal location, fantastic staff, hidden gem

Excellent stay, rooms are very clean, our host was lovely and very knowledgeable of the local area. Excellent breakfast and good location for the eastern side of the Lake District. Exceptional location for parkrun at Muncaster Castle. The facilities were above and beyond anything we have stayed in previously. We will certainly stay again, and I would also say this is a hidden gem, and the rooms are underpriced.

A perfect place to stay for our 2 nights in Holmrook.

It was a lovely location with fantastic views from our room. Nice comfortable bed and lots of little extras too. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice. Jo was a very obliging host.

A lovely B&B, excellent value.

The raditional English and vegetarian breakfasts were outstanding. Lots of really fresh fruit too on a buffet. The host was very informative about the lakes for hiking, and fun to chat with. The room really nice, all the decor was top quality. I loved the old fashion beautiful big bathroom. The location was near the beach coastal path and the western lakes.

A lovely overnight stay at Dale View B&B.

Jo is a fantastic host who deeply cares about her guests.Nothing was a problem and she has gone to extremes to ensure your stay is seamless and stress free. The breakfast choice was fantastic. Fresh fruit ,fruit juice and pastries were available if requiring a continental along with a full English cooked to your requirements. Vegan,Vegetarian options were available if requested prior to your stay. The property is maintained to a high standard and the garden is home to her 7 Chickens who roam freely. All in all,a lovely overnight stay but only the beginning of many more when visiting The Lake District.

We really enjoyed being here but there is something more that I cannot put my finger on really, you just feel ‘at home’

The property is ideally suited for us as we were looking to climb Scarfell Pike and needed somewhere close so we could get an early start. The property is immaculate and Jo has gone above and beyond with (literally) everything you could want in a room. Also knows about things going on in the surrounding area and places to eat on an evening.

Excellent stay!

The accommodation is of a high standard, the host clearly goes to a lot of trouble to offer a first class service and the breakfast was top notch. My room was comfortable with a nice garden view and had exclusive access to a separate bathroom and toilet nearby.

I found that the water ran cold when taking a shower in the morning. This was not a major issue as I was staying in the summer and it was warm, but it could have been at a colder time of year.

The attention to detail and thoughtful touches within the room, for example, additional toiletries and the binoculars were a nice touch.

I wasn't keen on the waste water management system but apprecoate why the massorator is installed.

Exceptional value for money! Very comfy and clean. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice available. The welcome tray was very impressive - so much on offer. The same can be said of all the other things that were there, e. g. toiletries. There was everything you could possibly need. Lovely quiet location.

Brilliant,would definitely stay at Dale View again

Great location,great breakfast and landlady Jo,was very friendly and helpful,she gave us great recommendations of local places to eat for evening meals and good local attractions that were worth visiting.Really enjoyed Drigg Beach and surrounding area,great for birdwatching,we even saw a Marsh Harrier driving down the track road to the beach!

Lovely place to stay

Jo was absolutely lovely, greeted with the warmest of welcomes & felt like we were at home. The bed was so comfy we had the best nights sleep. The room had lots of lovely little touches with wide variety of tea & coffee. Jo was very informative about the local area with suggestions on places to visit. Very welcoming atmosphere as soon as we walked in. Comfortable. Peaceful. Jo the proprietor is an exceptionally communicator which made the lead up to our stay so much easier. She has done everything she possibly could to ensure her guests’ comfort and caters for their every need. I would stay here again if in this area and would choose to stay as long as I could

EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT, NEVER HAD A SLEEP LIKE IT, THE BED WAS THAT COMFY, THE BREAKFAST WAS OUTSTANDING, AND THE HOST, (JO), WAS A FOUNTAIN OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE AREA, AS WELL AS THE LONE CHEF, WE WILL BE RETURNING VERY SOON, IF WE FIND A GAP IN THE BOOKINGS.

Homely with the perfect hostess

Jo thought of absolutely everything int he room. The drinks selection was amazing and we even had biscuits and oatmilk (I am gluten free) included. The room was cosy and warm and the bathroom had a jacuzzi bath!! We had a very good stay and slept like babies. Breakfast was included and was gorgeous - again Jo catered for my GF diet at no extra charge and was the perfect hostess. We will be returning and highly recomend Dale View.
