A little disappointing.

Our one night stay was a little disappointing. Had booked a sea view room but am not sure any of the rooms would have had a sea view. Prior to arrival we were asked to update our precise arrival time which over a journey of c180 miles was not really possible. Presumably the request was to minimize inconvenience to the proprietors. On arrival we were advised of breakfast times with the suggestion we should not be late. Had trouble connecting more than one device to the internet. Requested some milk and received two small pots of UHT rather than some fresh milk. Overall gained the impression that our hosts were more focused on their enterprise rather than on their guests

Expensive for what was provided, not in walking distance of any amenities.

Clean and comfortable but with minimal provisions.

Check in was not until 5pm. Breakfast was not available until after 8.30 and we had to leave by 8.00. Small amount of provisions in the room.

Beautiful place- very relaxing.

Beautiful restored property- spacious rooms. Good breakfast- nice to have yoghurt and crepes on 2 nd day. Very friendly staff. Beautiful location near St Malo.

Noisy party next door on 2nd night- not the owners fault but resulted in poor nights sleep.

Lovely Countryside location

The property is located in countryside around 6 km from the ramparts of St Malo. Very peaceful location with a large garden with seating area. Good sized room with sitting area. Water, Tea/coffee and kettle provided. Good breakfast also provided, meats, cheeses, pastries, yogurts and juice. Lots of parking available Beautiful countryside, towns and seaside and a selection of restaurants within a short driving distance (would highly recommend Le Chateau de Sable) Hosts were very welcoming.

Perfect location, excellent food and brilliant owner

Very friendly owner who couldn’t do enough for us. He carried my suitcase up the stairs and brought us an ice cold bottle of water. The lady who was there on his day off was lovely too. Excellent accommodation, great continental breakfast and perfect location

Breakfast was very good. Very fresh bread, local butter, cold meats, local cheese, local yoghurts, good croissants, orange juice, tea or coffee.

The room was beautiful. The towels were rather tired, one had a run in it. The bedspread was lovely but had a couple of small darns. I felt the grounds let the place down a little. They could have been lovely but were rather unkept. I had a lovely little terrace but the dwarf wall round the terrace was full of weeds. These small criticisms did not detract from my stay . I would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic stay

Decoration and comfort of the room, space, views on the countryside and breakfast were amazing, but what exceeded our expectations was the warm welcome and availability of the hosts, a lovely couple. They obviously care about this place and this is reflected in their attention to detail, kindness and the personalised tips they give to the guests.

Sadly it seems that the landlord won't hire an extra person to allow the hosts to rest one or two days a week, meaning the hosts currently work 7 days a week April to November - this is insane. This means they will retire at the end of the year to finally get some free (well deserved) time, and the landlord will probably lose what was an impeccable and amazing service from two passionate people. Short sighted!

A perfect overnight stay for Brittany Ferries

We chose this historic chamber d'hote for its countryside location and its proximity to Brittany Ferries Ferry Terminal We were more than happy with our spacious corner deluxe room with bath as well as shower.All the amenities and facilities were there. The breakfast was French style but also included ham cheese and eggs Host Christophe was welcoming and engaging

Good location

great location for st malo ferry.

Instead of having a normal mattress protector, they had a waterproof protector which you’d usually use for your children - horrible (hot & uncomfortable). All the crockery was scratched and mugs just look over used. Bed spread looked like it had been washed hundred times and lost its original colour. Needs some investment in the finer detail, things looked tired. Also sink in bathroom needs a proper bleach or mould spray. Sorry we stayed at 5 other b&bs during our stay and the quality was of a much higher standard.

Beautiful room, tastefully decorated, large with plenty of space, big en-suite, private patio overlooking a walled garden. Fresh breakfast from the bakery, that was very nice. Just on the fringe of St Malo, perfect. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

Excellent multi-lingual hosts giving us great tips for Bretagne and satisfying French continental breakfast.

Large room for two, great breakfast (simple but with local pastries and produce) and best of all the multi-lingual hosts were always up for a chat on tips to see Brittany. Worth the stay slightly out of Saint Malo (with a car).
