Gentilhommière de la Grande Toutenais

Perfect location for visiting areas such as Saint Malo and Cancale without being in the hustle and bustle of a city centre. Room was huge with a comfy bed. Host was fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful, carried bags upstairs, shared local restaurants. Lovely breakfast. Free private parking. Perfect stay.

No faults!

Part of a large family complex of rooms and apartments, this hotel offers a tranquil and quiet stay, mid-way between St. Malo and Cancale. We very much enjoyed our terrace and found it perfect for a glass of wine or an evening salad under the trees. The breakfast was included and prepared by the owner with more than adequate choices for a continental meal. The garden surrounding the facility is large and peaceful and the room was quite large and comfortable. The owner was most attentive and helpful and treated us as family. Thank you, Fabrice.

The weather was quite warm when we visited and our stay would have been a bit better with a little air conditioning, even if just in the evening. The garden was very pleasant but with the warm weather, things were very dry and not as appealing as they might have been with a bit more care.

Very quiet room, in an ideal area on the outskirts of St Malo, had a little patio which was in a very large walled garden. The breakfast room was close to our room, and was inviting and well stocked with delicious continental breakfast plus crepes! A L'Clerc was nearby with lots of choice if you needed treats etc. Fabrice and Christina were extremely welcoming, helpful, cheerful hosts!

We liked everything just missed the access to a fridge!

Our one night stay was a little disappointing. Had booked a sea view room but am not sure any of the rooms would have had a sea view. Prior to arrival we were asked to update our precise arrival time which over a journey of c180 miles was not really possible. Presumably the request was to minimize inconvenience to the proprietors. On arrival we were advised of breakfast times with the suggestion we should not be late. Had trouble connecting more than one device to the internet. Requested some milk and received two small pots of UHT rather than some fresh milk. Overall gained the impression that our hosts were more focused on their enterprise rather than on their guests
