Ferienwohnung am Krippenhof

The welcoming hosts were there on arrival to meet us with the keys and offer friendly advice and information about the accommodation and more generally attractions in the area. We didn't take a car but there was ample parking space. The area was very quiet, it was safe, the forest walks were almost immediate to the property. Overall Baden Baden is a beautiful town with lots to do in a scenic setting. The area has parks, museums, art galleries, and spas. The town feels relaxed and relatively traffic free. There are a range of eating establishments to fit most budgets. There is a very affordable outdoor swimming pool set with views about 2 miles from the accommodation. It includes a 50 metre swimming pool, a water slide, and family pool area with a grass area and space to eat your own food or buy from the cafeteria.

There was nothing to dislike but travellers might like to be aware of the following. The accommodation was up a climb of 4-5 minutes from central Baden Baden but we didn't mind that. Other travellers might have made use of a microwave if one was there but it wasn't a problem as the general kitchen facilities and oven and cooker were more than adequate. The railway station is around 2.5 miles from the accommodation which for travel planning does mean you need to allow for the time to get there if using the train for day trips or arriving and leaving at the start or end of your stay, but buses do travel regularly to the centre of Baden Baden from there.

Very good and comfy place for a stay at the edge of the forest. Close to city center without the city noise. Very polite and helpful hosts. We were greeted and some welcome presents were waiting for as at the place.

Located at the edge of Baden-baden and of the forest. Walk into town either over meadows or down a wooded dene. Walk out of the house into the Black Forest; nearby beerhouse on meadow at forest edge. We found enough to do in the valley without needing to go on trips to elsewhere in the Black Forest. Enjoyed walking on the Panoramaweg through the forest high above the town yet also easy to walk doewn to the Festspielhaus, the Burda Modern art gallery or the Lichtentalerallee.

Walk up the hill back to the flat from the town - but we were there for the hills and woods so hey!
