Cool concept.

This property has beautiful views of the lake and sunrise when it isn’t cloudy. The grounds were well kept and the nature sounds were beautiful outside. The rooms are a funky concept and were cleaned ok with fresh linen. The staff were super helpful with luggage and delivering meals but minimal English.

The roads into this property are extremely off putting, even on a scooter they’re unpleasant. Suitable for a 4wd or confident driver. The flies are next level and it would be handy having fly spray in the room to rid of the ones that sneak in when the doors open. Food and drinks were nothing fancy but ok and covered with cling film to protect from bugs. You also need an app to get door entry, this uses a lot of data for some who perhaps don’t have it.

Such a perfect place for relaxing

Bobocabin Kintamani is nicely located, facing Lake Batur and close to popular spots like Toya Devasya and Batur Hot Spring. We had a BBQ during our stay, and the beef was delicious, included the breakfast also tasty. They provided water drink refill as well in the pantry, good one.

The only downside was the number of flies, but thankfully, the insect repellent worked well inside the cabin.

The cabin was clean, cozy, well maintained and reflecting good attention to housekeeping. The view facing Lake Batur is absolutely stunning—definitely the highlight of the trip.

perfect for a quiet retreat

Even though it was cloudy when we arrived, the next morning we woke up to a beautiful sunny view from our cabin. The cabins are charming, and the peaceful surroundings make it a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The views are calming, and the overall concept is ideal for a quiet retreat. No need to go far if you’re hungry—just order and have it delivered to your cabin. No hassle, and the service is fast! 🤩 Next time, I’d love to bring my big family. Such a great place!

Best View in Kintamani

For a hotel in Kintamani—especially if you’re after great views—Bobocabin is a best choice. They have food available, which was pretty decent and fairly priced. Their staffs also friendly and informative.

I read previous reviews about the road access and yes it's a bit narrow and uphill, with some challenges along the way. But we managed to get through it just fine, and everything was okay in the end 😀

I had a wonderful experience at Bobocabin Kintamani!

The cabin was clean, cozy, and offered a breathtaking view of Batur Lake. The smart features made the stay even more comfortable and fun. Their staff were friendly and helpful. A perfect place to relax and connect with nature. Definitely recommended!

Could have been better.

Good drive up the mountain, quiet and peaceful but the music outside was a bit much.

The latch on the bathroom door frame stuck out scraping my arm and cutting my partner’s arm . Ordered two meals, only one arrived because they didn’t have stuff to make the other then told us the kitchen was closed, so a bit hungry that night.

Very bad for the price they charge

Staff was nice and views were good

Cabin is super hot even with ac fully blasting at 17 (if you touch the entrance door made of metal you get seriously burned, like a hot pan). Bed sheets were stained. Shower comes off the wall. It's all super small. When we arrived no one set up the mosquito net for us, nor the umbrella. No hand soap. There's animals lose in the premises and they come to bother when you're eating. The dog even byte me and the cats keep miawing. The neighbors are fully blasting their dangdut music and karaoke all day long at full volume (impossible to relax). You need to have your phone at all times to unlock your cabin door (there's a QR code). Certainly waaay overpriced for IDR 1.3 million (almost USD 100) per night.

Cheap but not that cheerful…

Staff were friendly and helpful. The cabin has everything you need and is close to the mountain for an early hike.

There are SO many flies in the area. Even with fly nets you get attacked. I’m not over exaggerating and I know the hotel can’t change this but it’s worth knowing before you travel there. The road is bumpy and you couldn’t really pop out on foot to get anything from nearby shops which is frustrating. If you need cheap and cheerful for a night it’s ideal. I didn’t really enjoy it that much but the staff did what they could (also take supplies as they didn’t have many drinks to buy)

Beautiful location, the view is amazing. The Bobocabin territory is well maintained. The fixed the problem with flies by applying a tent. We really enjoyed our stay.

Our neighbours were talking loudly till late so I couldn't fall asleep till 2 am... There is no soundproof in a cabin.

Would discourage

Beautiful view

The quality and state of the houses was quite disappointing considering the price of a stay. The outside tub didn’t seem to be cleaned. While it is fine that flies come inside the cabin as there are just many of them, I disliked that there are enough crooks for every animal to come inside even when the door is closed. Saw every single animal from huge spiders to cockroaches to snails in one single night and had some crawl over me while in bed. Do not trust Google maps as they will lead you to a road that is the size of a one person tracking trail. On the way out of the hotel I discovered another road that is more driveable. it would have been nice if the hotel could clarify how to use that road to arrive at the hotel. (a lot of the staff don’t speak English) The hotel only accepts cards for any payment of food or other things and you are asked to pay for every transaction and not for all at once during check out. This creates extra costs for foreigners and concerns if cards will be accepted. For the price I paid…. very disappointing

Lovely location, interesting concept

Great location below Mount Batur. Interesting concept of rooms with excellent views across the lake below, electronic glass and a tablet to control lights etc. Everything needs ordering from an app, but seems to work out OK. All meals are brought to the room, which is somewhat limited in size, but tables and chairs are available outside. Recommended.

Little escape away out of town

The views were amazing! Cooling place with amazing views in nature, and good opportunities to stargaze and rest. They provide a good service with a bbq next to the cabin at night and other activities around the area (We took a jeep)

The place is not easy to get to! It is a long single plan rocky mountain path that was challenging to drive and oncoming cars were stressful to maneuver. Would suggest transportation options to the cabin or guides to ensure that the path is clear before driving down.

At least experience it for one night.

The location is really nice, right overlooking the Batur Lake. I also enjoyed the quiet time so people can all go to bed early and get up early for the sunrise. I didn't see it due to the clouds, but it was still gorgeous. However, it was a bit hard to find, and I came on a bike in the rain, and the last bit of rocky sandy road leading up to the hotel was a bit rough. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked much better than I had expected.

I didn't like the fact that people had to download an App just to stay there. It might work for locals who could check into other Bobocabins or enjoy other services, but as a foreigner, downloading an App for a one-night stay in a hotel is just a waste of precious phone memory space. As a pretending camping site, of course, there were many flies and insects around.

Superb

The place really nice to stay with the view of the mountains in the morning. Reaching out the staff also easy because using phone app.

The way to the bobon is bit hard to reach using google maps and also bit hard for big car to go through since the way to the bobon was small.

1. Unstable Wi-Fi in room. Had to keep going to reception to send msg. 2. Room not cleaned daily. Left over food outside cabin not cleared, attracting more flies. 3. Toilet a bit small, and some facilities like soap dispenser is breaking down. 4. Basic room kit not prepared for each room. Have to request for umbrella, tea spoon, bug spray individually. 5. Location is hard to find, driver got angry with me for booking this place due to the uneven road leading to the cabins.

Beautiful views, comfortable bed in a cute cabin, some customer service work to do

Really comfortable bed, great views and outside communal area. Cute cabins which seems to be well done, clean and mostly well maintained

This places uses a lot of tech which is great but there’s not much effort put into the customers experience. For example, we had to proactively contact the WhatsApp number on the website to find out which app to download, they should send a communication prior to arrival with clear and compete instructions on WhatsApp required so you don’t have to waste time at check in downloading apps and uploading id documents. Also the touchscreen in our cabin broke so we couldn’t turn off the light at 9pm. We informed the staff, he said he’d come after dealing with the same issue in another cabin. After 40 minutes we had to go and find him, he said he forgot. Lastly, this place charges Rp750k if you want to use any electricity in the communal area which is pretty expensive, especially considering we booked 8 rooms and there’s no other sheltered gathering area. We bought some firewood from them for a bonfire and they demanded immediate payment rather than on checkout. Just some odd policies that don’t really take into account customer convenience.
