A gem in Canggu!

What an elegant and beautiful property with hospitable staff who always make it their priority to ensure that your needs are met during your stay. The view and setting at meal times, whether day- or night was always gorgeous and relaxing. I especially loved the candles lit by the pool during dinner, so lovely. Bed was comfortable and towlels clean and fluffy, all the extra thoughtful amenities like laundry bags and mouthwash, slippers, Balinese style robes, Marshall speaker, insect repellent spray which was a natural botanical blend were all really lovely touches. Staff were never more than a tap away using the in- room iPad WhatsApp service which was always very quick, polite and efficient! I loved the location as it was a little bit out of the busy central Canggu but still super close by car or walking to more touristic areas. The surrounding immediate village had lovely cafes and shops and the hotel buggy is there to take you around to nearby locations even though I didn’t get to try this service out for myself due to time constraints/ my short stay. Thank you to La reserve for enabling me to enjoy this dream- like atmosphere on my arrival to Bali!

No lock/ latch on shower door that leads out to the pool, neither are you able to lock your bathroom door that leads to the bedroom at night. I knew that I should be safe, but it still left me with an uneasy feeling regarding total safety as a solo female traveler. Also a rubber/ silicone seal could be added to the bottom of the glass door of the shower that opens out to the pool/ garden to ensure that small animals/ insects don’t come into the bathroom.

The hotel is absolutely excellent & the staff and service were amazing. Breakfast was so good, dinner options were very good, lovely restaurant setting,Afternoon Tea could be so much better they don’t offer much sandwich only three finger sandwiches and two little cakes initially you have to ask for more. The room with plunge pool was fantastic inside very dark outside from tree growth. A lot of people in the main pool not sure if cold or heated. Good location and shuttle buggy to Le Brisa Beach Club and back is excellent.

Like many hotels you buy the best room with a pool but cannot use the pool because it’s too cold because they aren’t heated and don’t get the sun. Then they have lots of trees and brushes blocking the sun so you really pay more to just look at a pool of water outside the window. I especially wanted to use the pool hence paying for the best room but the plunge pool was too cold to get in so a complete waste of money having the pool room.

Pure bliss

This was my second time staying and I loved this hotel just as much as the first time. Beautiful rooms, peaceful yet only a short walk to cafes and restaurants. Staff are always exceptional. The breakfasts are amazing. I love being able to go out an experience all the area has to offer and then return to the hotel and relax again.

It felt less like a transaction and more like being welcomed into a very special home. The exceptional food was a constant delight. Each meal was a culinary journey, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Whether enjoying a quiet breakfast or a more elaborate dinner, the quality and artistry were consistently outstanding. And then there was the sheer luxury of my in-room pool. Having that private oasis to cool off and relax in was an absolute game-changer and added an unparalleled level of indulgence to my stay. Despite the tranquil setting, the superb internet connection was a welcome and unexpected bonus, allowing me to stay connected seamlessly when needed. Our villa at La Reserve 1785 was a harmonious blend of traditional Balinese charm and modern comfort. The spacious layout, adorned with elegant furnishings, an abundance of artworks & a library of art and design books, offered a serene sanctuary. The private plunge pool and lush garden added an extra touch of luxury to our experience, creating a perfect balance of relaxation and indulgence. The staff at La Reserve 1785 truly exemplified Balinese hospitality. From the warm greeting upon arrival to the attentive care throughout our stay, every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Whether arranging transport to and from yoga training sessions and surf breaks at sunrise to heavenly spa treatments at the La Reserve Spa, or recommending local dining spots, their genuine enthusiasm and professionalism were consistently remarkable. Our eight-day stay at La Reserve 1785 Canggu Beach was nothing short of magical. The combination of luxurious accommodations, impeccable service, exquisite dining, and idyllic surroundings created an unforgettable retreat. La Reserve 1785 exceeded our expectations in every way and we can't wait to return!

There were some 'influencers' that flew in overnight for a free stay and interrupted the peaceful seclusion and exclusivity of the hotel, dominating the hotel spaces and attention of the poor staff during peak guest times with all their requests for food and service, (photographing with large cameras + lenses, not very discretely) during several main meal times in the dining area while we were trying to relax and enjoy breakfast and lunch), however they only stayed overnight and the staff managed them very professionally, kindly and patiently. While we understand the many benefits for businesses 'influencers' offer sharing reviews and images on social media, it would have felt better for us as paying guests if these activities occurred outside main guest hours or during off shoulder seasons to maintain the privacy and exclusivity La Reserve offers.

Amazing stay at La Reserve

Wow, book into La Reserve if you want to feel like a celebrity. The decor and design of the hotel is beautiful and so unique, the breakfast was amazing (and served all day - what a perk!) The shuttle to La Brisa was so handy and the concierge service over WhatsApp was so helpful and we got given excellent restaurant recommendations. We also used the spa which didn't have a couples room, but the service was 10/10. The location was great, a bit away from the heart of Canggu but still very close by. Also the bed was so comfy! Thanks for an awesome stay :)

We had the most incredible stay at this remarkable hotel! We loved the stunning architecture that blended timeless charm and elegance with modern facilities and ultimate comfort and also a homey feeling. The highlight was the seemingly endless pool that stretched across the landscape. What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the exceptional staff. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel like cherished guests from the very start. Their attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond truly elevated our experience. Special thanks to Kadek at the reception and to the restaurant team! It’s rare to find a team so dedicated to ensuring every aspect of your stay is absolutely perfect. I also had a massage at their spa which was the best I had during my stay in Bali and at a lower price than other resorts of this quality and price. I recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, pampering stay in the lively Canggu!!!
