Amberley is a recently renovated house just 5 minutes from the centre of Ilfracombe and from its busy working harbour. The house, which sleeps up to 8 people, has panoramic views of the sea and a terrace on which to enjoy the views and al fresco dining. There is a well-equipped kitchen, utility area, linen and towels are provided. Spacious entrance hall with seating for a quiet read. The large, bright lounge/dining room has ample comfortable seating and a large dining table, as well as a wood-burning stove for winter evenings.

Had a great week in Amberley. Well equipped home ,beautifully decorated. Views of harbour are fantastic and very relaxing. My only negative comment is the late cgeck in and early check out. 10am is very early especially when you are expected to strip beds. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Fantastic house, photos do not do it justice. It is spacious and the view is amazing. Washing up wasn't a chore at all! Beds were comfy and the kitchen was fully equipped. We will love to come back.

6 of our family members converged on Amberley House in Ilfracombe, North Devon, for 2 marvelous weeks. Ilfracombe (pronounced “Coome”) is a very old fishing village with charm, boats, beaches, steep little hills, stone houses and wide blue sea. There are many things to do both in Ilfracombe and in the surrounding region. But we also just really enjoyed being in this spacious and beautifully renovated house gazing at the sea and the coast of Wales across the Bristol Channel. Because there were 6 of us, we were worried that only 2 bathrooms were listed for the property, one being in the master suite. It turns out that the house is AMPLY supplied with bathrooms: in addition to the en suite and the large family bath, there is also a very useful powder room off the stair landing, plus a nice stall shower down off the laundry room. (Together they equal a third full bath). Additionally, 2 of the 4 large bedrooms have modern sinks in them. This is incredibly convenient. So the “facilities” were more than ample. The views from the living room, the large deck, the kitchen, and 2 of the upstairs bedrooms are mesmerizing. There’s a comfy spot at the front entry for reading in two big leather chairs. The dining room boasts a table seating at least 8. The living room invites you to relax on its sofas, or just admire that view. Perhaps the best room of the house is its amazing kitchen. Very large, it boasts a giant induction cooktop and double oven stove. Now we all want one!

We absolutely loved the house! Very good beds and bathrooms, every room is really spacious and very Pleasant. We all felt absolutely at home! The views from the balcony are stunning. We had a really happy week here. I can very much recommend this house ! Thanks for everything!

Beautiful well appointed property in an excellent location within walking distance of harbour Ideal place for extended family- we visited with our children and grandchildren plenty of room for all of us - comfortable beds and good showers- the welcoming basket of goodies was a lovely touch- thanks

Wonderful views. Very comfortable. Excellent kitchen and facilities. Spacious sitting/dining area. Bedrooms. Main bedroom-good wardrobe, insufficient drawers. 2nd bedroom. Chest of drawers but no hanging space. Generally inappropriate bedroom storage. This was shared because we were one family but would be difficult otherwise. Difficult recycling arrangements. Thought stripping beds for 9:00 wasn’t easy. Despite these quibbles we had a wonderful time and would recommend it as a wonderful place to stay. Good parking-we thought we would let you know the quibbles in case you wanted to make adjustments. Thank you very much for the wonderful hamper.

We really enjoyed our stay at David's house. The house was well equipped, clean and comfortable. The views from the back windows and terrace were amazing. Just sitting on the terrace and watching the sea was a treat. We had family from far and wide for a very special holiday and the property did not disappoint.

The photos of this lovely house really do not do it justice as it is much bigger than appears and the views from the rear are stunning! We could not take our eyes away from the beautiful views and were extremely lucky with the weather too. We stayed at Amberley with all our family (8 in total) including our two young grandchildren and our Golden Retriever and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is well equipped and David was a lovely host who made sure we had items like a highchair and travel cot available. We had a minor issue with the hot water but this was resolved very quickly by David and caused no problems. The welcome pack was the best we have ever had with a lovely cream tea and even a bottle of Prosecco in it! The harbour/sea front is a short walk away, however, it is downhill going and uphill coming back and very steep in places so this should be taken into account if you have someone with mobility issues.

We had a lovely time in David’s property, it was much bigger and nicer than I had thought from the photos. Great location and view of the beach. The only thing I’ll say is that the neighbours were quite rude and told us at 4pm to make sure we were quiet and it made us feel a slight edge to the otherwise wonderful weekend.

From the moment we booked our host David communicated with us to ensure all of our needs were catered for. There was a lovely hamper waiting for us when when we arrived making us feel very welcome. We then had a great week catching up with friends and exploring the local area, eating our own bodyweight in pastys and ice-cream topped of with a local firework display on our last night. The photos don't do this house justice, it is much bigger and better than it looks!

From the start, booking and communication with the host was great. Quick response and very helpful. Received a beautiful welcome hamper with lovely touches. The house is of high spec and amazing views from the balcony and rooms. Beds are so comfy and the showers powerful. Kitchen has everything you could need. The house is a short walk from the harbour and shops. This is a Lovely place, would love to stay there again. We stayed with 5 adults 2 kids and 2 small dogs and the place didn’t feel crowded.
