About this house rental
This building is a completely remodelled 19th-century house that belonged to a captain in the 1800s. It's interesting to note that the house opposite The Fig Tree House is where J. K. Rowling lived during her time in Porto!
It comprises 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one with a bath and one with a shower only) and 2 toilets, a cosy living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a patio. It is suitable for 8 people, making it perfect for families or large groups. We look forward to welcoming you!

Despite being located in the heart of the city, this house has a calm feel and garden, perfect for your visit to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Porto. The building has been completely renovated, providing all the comfort of a modern house, while maintaining its beautiful original architectural style. The house was owned by a commander back in the 1800s, and is right opposite the house where JK Rowling lived during her time in Porto!
The house comprises of:
>Three bedrooms with king sized beds, and two single beds in the fourth room. All the beds have mattress heaters!*
* All the rooms come with comfortable sets of bed linen.
> A comfortable living room with TV and a very cozy sofa.
> A fully equipped kitchen that comes with all appliances you may require for the preparation of a delicious home cooked meal, such as; an electric stove, an oven, a toaster, a fridge and more.
> Two bathrooms (one with a bath and one with only a shower) and two WCs. The full bathroom is on the 2nd floor.
>A lovely patio outside (which can be accessed via the kitchen as well as from one of the bedrooms) which is perfect for enjoying a good book and basking in the afternoon sun on a lazy day.

*Mattress heaters are generally safe, however their correct usage plays an important part in that safety. Please take care not to crumple them as this may cause overheating and therefore a higher risk of fire. Please turn them off during the day, only turning them on a few minutes before use. Only turn them on maximum to heat, then turn them down during use. Preferably turn them on to heat before use and then turn them off during use. Use mattress heaters at your own risk.

We loved the Fig Tree house! My children loved playing in the backyard and collecting the figs that fell from the tree. The beds were comfortable (many other properties seem to have very, very firm beds), and the rooms in the back of the home were quiet at night. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!
