Oporto City View - São Lázaro

The location is good and convenient for walking to and from old city. There are several restaurants nearby, bakery in the same building and shopping center 5 minutes away. The apartment is on the 3rd floor windows facing to the small park.

As the building is quite old, the wooden floor is very creaking :( Though the apartment was described as suitable for 4 people, there were only 3 cups for coffee and no coffee capsules.

Air conditioning wasn’t the most efficient, though it was 35 degrees!

The apartment is advertised as accommodating four guests and has a double bed, but the entire space is open-plan. There are no doors, not even sliding doors, separating the sleeping area from the living room, which offers very little privacy. It is also very noisy in the evenings, especially on weekends, making it difficult to relax and get a good night’s sleep. The staff were polite, but the communication was disappointing. When I asked whether it would be possible to change the reservation dates, I was simply told that it could not be done. There was no attempt to explore any options or offer assistance, which gave the impression that they were unwilling to help with the request.

Great location right in the middle of lots of restaurants and breakfast was nice. The staff really pushed my review up as without their lively engagement I would probably have scored this lower.

Sadly we had probably the worst of the flats on the ground floor. There was an issue with cockroaches (one inside, 3 just outside on our decking) and lots needs updating. Aircon disconnected (heater provided but you can’t keep that on all night so I was cold), mattress very old (you could feel the springs), percolator broken but changed immediately when mentioned . Sockets ripped, bench broken, no outside light candle without a wick, bathroom smelt at times and you can’t keep the windows open during the night as they are big enough for someone to fit through. The staff got us a free bottle of port for the creepy crawly so that was nice but I would sadly not stay here again or at least not in this flat.
