Nice place, but need to be more on the ball.
The setting of the building was beautiful. The bed was comfortable and bedding was nice. Lovely display of fruit and continental breakfast.
Missed message saying if you wanted tea and coffee in your room, ask a member of staff. Maybe staff showing you to room could mention. The shower was very stiff to turn and didn't get warm. Lots of dead flies in bathroom. When the heating went off the room soon got cold. Was cold in the morning, heating didn't come on until we were going down for breakfast. Cook breakfast was lacking. The two button mushrooms looked lost on the plate with the one small sausage, egg, one rasher, half a tomato, one slice of black and white pudding. Staff missed out on getting our drinks order. We would have had at least another 2 drinks each if we could catch their attention. When we did order drinks before food, they seemed surprised, but we had sat out in the hall with our menus for 20mins without being asked if we would like a drink.

Nire Valley break
Very friendly welcome from all the staff , , lovely location , lounge areas so comfortable , with lovely fire . Very spacious bedroom and bathroom . The food was excellent with such a wide choice, would definitely recommend a stay there for a relaxing break in the lovely Nire Valley
Very little we didn't like except would have preferred a separate shower rather than shower in jacuzzi bath.

If you’re looking for a friendly welcoming and cozy stay in the picture perfect Nire Valet
Hanora’s was a cozy, charming, and homelike stay! Really had the country cottage vibe. The staff was incredibly friendly, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the common areas were welcoming and created a real sense of community with other guests!
If you like a place that feels homey this is perfect! If you’re looking for something more typical hotel this is not it. It has all the regular amenities but maybe a little worn in. However the friendliness and homey vibe more than made up for anything that was slightly worn.

Everything about Hanora's exceeded my expectations!
Hanora's Cottage was absolutely wonderful 👍 Mary and her family were incredibly gracious, accommodating and just lovely. The food was delicious, and the pastoral, bucolic setting was a hiker's dream come true. I was on a hill walking tour of Ireland, and the cottage was just down the road from some absolutely spectacular walks!
I will be sure to recommend this gem of a country inn to all my American friends who plan on coming to Ireland. And I will certainly be returning to Hanora's on my next Ireland vacation!
Everything was excellent! No complaints!

A tranquil gem of a guesthouse, with a fantastic welcome, food and comfort for all guests.
The array of fresh fruit options at breakfast was exceptional - sliced melon, pineapple, berries, exotic fruit, preserved fuit, etc. Porridge was so tasty. Freshly squeezed orange juice was amazing. The hot cooked options were totally open and up to ourselves - so the bacon, sausages and eggs I took were very freshly cooked and extremely tasty. First class. Then the fresh homemade breads reminded me of my mother's baking years ago - brown and white soda breads and fruit soda too. Nothing was too much bother for the lady on duty - a long time staff member.
Dinner was very enjoyable the night before . We went for the set menu and everything was beautifully cooked, tasty and well presented. Fantastic jacket potatoes were served - with lots of butter there to enjoy them.!! There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere in the dining room. Service was excellent by the staff with the owner, Mary, doing her rounds a few times to check that all was well. There were also beautiful seating areas for relaxing, with a stove lighting. Couldn't ask for better on a cool October evening.
The location of this hidden gem is amazing - not too far from Clonmel, but still in the depths of west Waterford in the Nire valley. An excellent base for long mountain walks in the Comeragh mountains. Surrounded by mountains, rivers and forestry - amazing landscape. And we had a pristine river outside our front window flowing along all night long - so soothing. Lovely seating areas have been developed outside which I'm sure must be good for relaxing in summer time.
The welcome and comfort there were exceptional so I have nothing to add here.

This was a unique, homey guesthouse was out in the country. The meals and the owner were the stars!
The dinner we reserved and the included breakfast were both top notch. The scenery around the cottage was gorgeous though the weather kept us from exploring as much as we'd have liked.
The facilities are quite old-fashioned and could use a refresh. One of our friends could not manage stepping into the deep tub.

Private, quiet, like being in a home
All good

Disappointing and definitely not worth driving off the main road to stay at.
The breakfast was over the top! The restaurant was very good.
The room was not as described or pictured—there was no decor, the bed was fairly hard and the pillows very flat. The “mountain” and “garden” view were a parking lot with flower baskets on the fence, and some hills. There was no fan in the bathroom so we kept the bathroom window open— as it was when we arrived—and tolerated the occasional mosquito.

Outstanding. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Words cannot express this exceptional establishment.. It was beyond doubt an amazing experience
Everything. It had a wonderful genteel feel about it dating back to a bygone age where nothing was too much trouble and the comfort of everyone was the most important element.

Total relaxation and family owned which is very evident from the customer service we received.
Everything, this place is a haven for a complete break away with nature, sound of the nearby river, views and total relaxation. The first impression of venue exceeded our expectations with decor, beds, bathrooms. I have never seen the display of fruit that was on offer for breakfast.
Nothing to dislike.

Luxury in a fabulous setting with a feel of home and great food, loved it.
Everything, this property is amazing. The guesthouse looks amazing as you drive up, handy parking to the rear of the property. Very warm welcome on arrival the staff are amazing ,Ina’s welcome was go good we felt like family and were at ease straight away. We booked in for dinner which I highly recommend it was delicious, locally sourced food extensive menu to suit all tastes, great wine list too. The room was massive with 2 beds, comfy couch, table and chair, plenty of storage space and spotlessly clean we also had bathrobes. The en-suite was huge with a jacuzzi tub and a great shower. We slept so well it’s such a peaceful setting with a river to the front. Breakfast was the best I’ve ever had, the options were endless, give yourself plenty of time to enjoy and come to breakfast hungry you won’t be disappointed. Mary is such a lovely generous lady. We will definitely be returning and staying longer.
Absolutely nothing, haven’t stopped telling people how amazing it is.

A great hideaway in the Comeragh mountains
The food was excellent - the breakfast was particularly memorable.. I also loved the tranquil setting, beside a church in the mountains, and watching the horses graze in the field under the bedroom window.
Nothing really

If you are looking for peace and quiet with a friendly atmosphere, look no further!
Hanora's Cottage is so welcoming and homely. The girls were extremely helpful and showed us where to park up our motorbikes. The rooms were immaculate and the view out on to the garden was perfect. Before dinner the evening we arrived, we had a relax in at the bar. It was comfortable and again, the view was relaxing. Our dinner order was taken and we were brought in to our table. The room has a nice ambience and the girls looked after us so well. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing, I had pork steak veg and potato, I really enjoyed it. I have to say the dessert was my favourite (I have a sweet tooth). Hanora popped in to check in and it was lovely to meet her. A real gentle soul.

Great place to stay if you want a quiet place off (way off) the beaten path.
Food was very good, servers were most helpful. Lots of choices for breakfast
I tried to get Mary to let us leave a day early, but she said you still have to pay, and made a reference to Booking.com? I wanted to leave early because the Cottage is in the middle of nowhere. If you want to go hiking or just have good food and not leave the place it would be great. But had we known how isolated it was, we would not have booked it. There is no place nearby to go eat or buy any conveniences, you have to drive on mountain roads 15 miles or so. Also, like most of Ireland the Wi-Fi is sad, need to go to public places to be close to the router to upload photos.
