I liked the mix of modern fittings with the old school fisherman cottage feel
There was no cleaning products in the bathroom
No logs next to the wood burner
Only 1 teabag in the kitchen -
The stairs were tricky!

The location is stunning and the house was quaint and well appointed.
The internet was slow but otherwise it was all good

It was in Robin Hoods Bay
The house was freezing up stairs, no wood supplied for the wood burner, we had plug in heaters for heat everywhere .
Poor facilities in the loft room; plaster coming of the ceiling, electric sockets on extension leads. No mirrors or side tables just the floor.
The kitchen did not have enough cups, no wine glasses, no chopping board, poor.
The bathroom had a towel radiator/rail which didn’t work. We had absolutely no response after contacting by messages and phone to booking.com / owner etc leaving us with absolutely no where to dry wet bath towels after using them. No where to dry anything not ideal for walking when the weather can be damp.

The Bed was comfy, good location.
The property is in need of complete redecoration, all very shabby, carpets fraying, decor very poorly finished, smelt of damp on arrival, paint peeling off walls, bathroom very dated and cold, no heating in there, many cobwebs, no wine glasses! Not a cosy cottage, wouldn't visit again, looked dirty internally.

Not bad and the bed okay. So that good.
A bit more clear and in the kitchen. Sugar , salt and pepper etc to be clean out and fresh up. Also if arriving stay at a holiday cottage’s, 1 toilet roll then we buy the next one. We saw the half kitchen roll in the bathroom.

Beautiful house, clean and well maintained in a great location in the Bay
Not enough crockery and cutlery for 5 people (didn’t matter as we were only there for a few days and ate out anyway but would be a bit annoying if we were eating at home)

Located in Robin Hoods Bay, which is where we wanted to be, and the cottage itself was quite nice. But please read my ‘What I didn’t enjoy about the property’ comments…
Seagulls constantly screeching on and around the house from 4.30am to 9pm. The noise was horrendous and spoiled the stay. The village is located at the bottom of a precipitous hill which cars are not allowed down, and the cottage is located up several flights of stairs once down in the village. No car access to the cottage so luggage needs to be carried up/down the hill, and up/down the stairs to the cottage. Very limited choices of restaurants in the village - best option is the Victoria Hotel bar and restaurant at the top of the hill (long, steep walk to get to dinner!)

Wifi did not work, could not connect, code on info pack different from on router.
Contacted owners but no response.
We needed reliable wifi as limited phone signal and family member was in hospital.
Dead bird on kitchen floor and kitchen smelt rotten.
No cafeteria or frying pan. Less bowls and plates then number of beds/persons for cottage
Limited crockery. Miss matching glasses.
Shower leaked all over floor.
Dust behind portable heater etc.

Location and character amazing.
Nice fire.
Great space in bedrooms.
Like basement kitchens
Stairs steep and awkward if anyone struggles with mobility it’s not ideal over four steep narrow steps

Fantastic location, amazing history and a rare historical property. Beautiful village with great amenities and views. Well worth a visit. House is nice and clean.
Although the house has amazing history, it needs maintenance. The bathroom and shower are extremely problematic, the shower cubicle is not fit for purpose. The stove has seen better days, I would question its safety. A freezer would have been useful and the WiFi did not work at all. Overall, as a holiday let, this beautiful historic cottage needs some TLC.

Great location close to all places in village. Great bedrooms stairs fairly steep but soon got used to them.
Liked everything but towel rail didn't seem to work

The house was dusty

Good value accommodation in a central location. Comfortable beds. Lots of heating provided for cold days/nights. Clean.
Needs a frying pan though. The WiFi wasn’t working but not a big issue as we had our own mobile phone data.

Our second stay, and will be back for a third!

Location. Beds comfortable.
No heating in the bathroom, the towel radiator didn’t seem to work. As it’s March it was rather chilly.

Great location, in the heart of the old part of the village. Very comfy beds.
Although the property is old, and some issues are to be expected, it was very dirty and a lot of it incredibly tired. The kitchen was damp smelling and unclean. The heating was on when we arrived, which I assume was the mitigate against the damp downstairs in the kitchen, so that meant it was both hot, unclean and damp.
A lot of the windows were very dirty.
The shower cubicle was mouldy.
The stairs are incredibly steep and narrow, and I managed to cut my toe on a grip rod under the carpet on the stairs to the top room.

Comfy bed. Location in Robin Hoods Bay.
Cottage not very clean. Unwelcoming, and overpriced. Not as description. No attempt had been made to correct the problems that previous visitors had made, which meant that our stay was a great disappointment. For the price we paid we could have got a room at a very nice hotel with many more comforts!!

Excellent location. Quirky mix of period and modern features. Comfortable beds.
Towels had obviously been cleaned, but still had marks on them that made us reluctant to use them. (Cottage otherwise clean).

a bit dusty (corners/ edges) - a few dead flies/ moths. beautiful house that needs a bit of tlc

Location was great so close to everything.
Parking and loading bags was difficult but we were well warned before booking so it’s not a dislike it’s just what it is

unique, lovely welcome pack.
very steep stairs but actually was part of the charm of the place.

The location was perfect.
The steep stairs were fine for us but not suitable for very young/old.

Fab location. Really old historic cottage dating from 1638.
Comfy bedrooms. Lovely view from the top bedroom.
Very damp kitchen - smelt really damp.
Not very clean in that the edges of the carpets didn't look like they had been vacuumed in a long time - under bedside tables etc with old tissues and fluff.
Had to clean up the bin outside that the badgers emptied because the previous occupants or cleaner had not secured the bin lid properly.

Robin Hood's Bay is stunning.
No hot water throughout the whole stay.

A great location to explore RHB and the area around. The accommodation was comfy and warm and met all our needs for our stay.
Tiny issue with WiFi not working, but it didn’t affect our enjoyment of the property

Lovely characterful cottage right in the heart of the village. Very comfortable and spacious bedrooms, perfect for our weekend away.

Plenty of hot water, clean and comfortable beds, furnished to high standard and cosy. House was clean. Lots of character. Heaters provided were needed and helped. Great location and easy access to house.
Our feedback to the owners would be that it seemed like false advertising to say that children of all ages are welcome when this property is NOT suitable for young children. We traveled with a just turned 3 year old and there is no mention of 4 stories or unsafe steep stairs until the booking is confirmed. The stair gate we took did not fit any of the doors and we had to improvise which involved taking the single mattress downstairs and all of us sharing a room to keep an eye on any toddler night movement. There were also cleaning products stored under the sink in a cupboard that was not secured and our child opened this during breakfast and grabbed a bottle.
Also sound from next door was loud and at times it felt like they were in the room with us. Understand it is an old property.
The WiFi and TV connection also left a lot to be desired and it was not windy at all....
None of the windows would open as they were painted shut.
The bathroom towel rail didn't heat up so that room was very cold.
No tea bags or coffee (even one or two) which is a normal nice touch and would have been appreciated :).
8.0 / 10.0
location in village. Well equipped kitchen. Character features and decor. sea view from top bedroom.
No bath - essential if doing long walks. The heating- storage heater was not adequate to keep living room warm in March. No logs or kindling and fire lighters left and local shop closed.
