So much individual character, very cosy, and lots of amenities. The den was great. The wood burner too as the centre piece of the living room.
Nothing. I wouldn’t have minded a fish slice for making pancakes on Shrove Tuesday but I managed. That’s totally trivial but as everything was damn near perfect it’s all I can think of.

Great location, cosy cottage for a weekend away.
Could have done with a few more kitchen essentials like a spatula, kitchen roll and tinfoil.

Cosy house on 4 levels. Tight narrow staircases but quite fun after you get the hang of them. Very clean house and quiet at night.
People in Robin Hood's Bay are friendly. Good choice of pubs. We enjoyed our stay.
We would recommend this place to others with the caveat that they have a driver confident of negotiating the narrow, steep road.
No basic condiments in the kitchen, such as salt and pepper, requiring an emergency trip to the shop when cooking a meal.
We booked this house because the description says it has parking nearby. We now understand this means using the car park a distance away at the top of the steep road (30 percent slope). Too far and steep to carry our bags from the car - we were recommended to park on the road (double yellow line) nearer the house, unload luggage, and then turn the car around and drive back to the car park. This is easier said than done, because turning around is tricky, as is negotiating the narrow, steep road and tight bends when a car appears from the opposite direction.
Checkout is 10am. The night before checkout we received an email asking us to run and empty the dishwasher before leaving. We always leave places where we stay clean and tidy but it was disappointing to also be asked to time our departure preparations so that the dishwasher is set to run an entire cycle, and then we should empty it.

Beautifully kept and comfortable cottage with some delightfully quirky touches. Beds really comfortable. Situated half way up the village in quaint location.
Something no owner can possibly control.. the Dawn chorus of seagulls is a little disturbing - but what else can you expect from a seaside cottage?

Very well presented fisherman’s cottage; great communications with the hosts. Lovely location. Recommend.
Fine for us, but beware the stairs are steep so may not be suitable for everyone.

It was a good little spot to wander around the very steep Robin Hood's Bay village.
The house was well set up with everything that was needed for a stay.
There was a bottle of fizz which was lovely, and some milk and biscuits so we could enjoy a cup of tea as soon as we went in - a blessing after a long journey to get there.
There must be a much greater emphasis on the steepness and small treads of the stairs.
It was mentioned by other reviews but not really specified clearly but, with being a very tall family, it was pretty dicey at times!

Darnholm Cottage is absolutely beautiful, really charming and characterful and has been finished to a very high standard. The location, right in the centre of Robin Hoods Bay is perfect, it is just a quick stroll to the beach.

So clean and well equipped.
Lovely decor and still some quaintness to it as well as having all the mod cons.
The stairs were a bit of a challenge but it’s to be expected in a 400 year old cottage.

Property was superb in one of the most spectacular settings you will ever come across.
Stairs in the property are tight and steep so it's important you are prepared to navigate the stairs.

Such an alluring cottage right in the heart of Robin Hood’s Bay, we enjoyed sitting by the log burner drinking the lovely Prosecco that the hosts ‘Iain’ and ‘Angela’ provided - Thank you for a lovely stay!!
There were no towels provided.

The cottage had everything you could wish for. It was very clean. The beds and pillows were very comfy. The water piping hot. It was nicely decorated with lovely accessories. Lovely to arrive to milk in the fridge, tea and coffee, biscuits and a nice bottle of wine.
It isn’t a dislike but not easy to get luggage to the cottage so I wouldn’t recommend for anybody who isn’t able bodied.

We loved the cottage. It was full of character, being so old, but at the same time, had all the modern facilities you could want to make our holiday easy.
The area is beautiful, lots of lovely walks.
There is a good variety of places to eat within walking distance that are excellent.
There is a good bus service into Whitby and Scarborough. We didn't use the car all week!
There was nothing to dislike.

Loved the whole property experience - it is a genuine local cottage, with all the ambience of times past and all the convenience of modernisation. Everything that you could want is supplied, all is comfortable, and the feeling of generations past and history is wonderful.
Maybe a bit more information about access to and in the property - eg I wouldn't have been able to take my 85 yr old mother with me - it's part of the wonderful experience, but needs to be clear.

What a beautiful place to stay in picturesque Robin Hood's Bay. A modern feel combined with a clear feeling of the 16th century cottage history.
Attention to detail throughout the four floors of this lovely home from home by the sea
Well appointed rooms, comfy, cosy, spotlessly clean throughout
We loved the den/games room and thr gorgeous colours, textiles, sofas, soft beds and bedding and easy to use kitchen. Highly recommended. We'll be back.
Really, not one criticism but such case has been taken throughout.

A lovely, cosy and clean cottage in a great location for a 3 night break in Robin Hoods Bay. Highlights included looking around the Bay and finding out more about its' history, food at the Bay Hotel, Scarborough (especially the market and collectibles shop), Boggle Hole and YMCA for food, Ravenscar, Whitby and Brambles Bistro (thanks for the recommend - superb steaks!).
Noisy Seagulls dancing on the roof and chimney pots at first light - I realise this can't be helped and is part of the charm of the area. At least they didn't steal any chips off us!

As soon as we arrived we felt a warm homely feeling. So very clean throughout. Everything you need is provided for to make your stay comfortable. The decor style is just stunning. My wife really loved the flower display in the first bedroom. In her words. It's stunning. My favourite room was the den. It is really brilliant. Again with tea, coffee, kettle. Just so great to play the games provided with a wine. Iain and Angela kept us informed with everything we needed to know. Also they were always at hand if needed. The cottage is in the perfect place for all the pubs and restaurants. Beach is just a few minutes down the cobbled Street with a nice view from the cottage. We loved the Victoria Hotel to eat and the Bay Hotel at the bottom for a drink. Overall, we had a fantastic time in Robin Hood's Bay in a fantastic cottage with fantastic hosts.we loved it so much we are going back.
Leaving to come home

What a beautiful little cottage. Immaculately presented and very clean. Has all the modern day comforts, whilst still retaining it's historical charm and quaint appeal. Great location and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Our hosts provided clear instructions regarding getting to the cottage, key availability and communication was excellent.
Thank you, can't wait to book my next stay!

Everything! In particular the coziness and warmth of the cottage, which is really helped by the log burner. The bed is very comfortable and the owners are so very thoughtful and helpful.
Didn’t like’ is too strong. It would be even better if the Roku smart TV didn’t require signing in to every app.
