The property had the perfect location. In the old village, in a quiet area and with what could only be described as an unbelievable view from the back of the property. It’s old and quirky. It gets you thinking of how it was set out in the olden times.

Quirky cottage in charming location of cobbled streets of Robin Hood's Bay. Comfortable cottage with all basic facilities, and in a position over looking the sea on one side.

Very steep stairs - but that's part of the charm and character of the place. Instructions to find the cottage weren't very clear - I didn't know what 'The Openings' was and Cliffe street isn't sign-posted until you are right up to it. It is very difficult to describe however. Poor Wi-fi connection.

Sadly we got lost after being misdirected from someone - but Martin who helps look after the cottage was really kind to meet with us and then help us get to where we needed to be in the end and he offered to carry my case. He's a top chap. The view from the decking was amazing and I did enjoy a glass of wine in the evening on there.

It was really tricky to get to and my mobile map didn't pick it up. There was a local resident who knew of a 'Storm Cottage' and gave directions but it was the wrong one! Perhaps more explicit descriptions on how to get there would help. The cottage was fine but no washing up liquid or complimentary soap/handwash. My two boys were unnerved by the abundance of spiders throughout the house - particularly their bedroom and toilet - I suppose that's nature! The sofa was quite uncomfortable to relax on after a long days walk. We sat outside for breakfast a couple of days but were constantly inundated with tourists staring at us over the fence thinking it was a thoroughfare. The outside seating was a tad flimsy and probably could do with slight updating. You need to trim those weeds away from your gate! :) - I am never one for complaining and I hope this is all taken in good faith as I'd love to see this little cottage keep thriving!
