Fantastic homestay on a beautiful small lane with amazing breakfast and views of Mt Agung.

I absolutely loved staying here and felt so at home with kadek and her family. I was upstairs with a gorgeous view of Mt Agung on a full moon. Breakfast is the best I have ever had ! Huge and such a big variety. The pool is cool and very lovely also. It was very quiet in my room. Also. I will definitely be back. Terimah kasi !

I can't really complain for the exceptional price and breakfast. Only thing is what everyone else says. The shower need replacing.

The homestay is located right in the heart of Ubud, about a 5–10 minute walk from both Ubud Market and Ubud Palace, an excellent location for exploring on foot. I initially booked for two nights but extended my stay because I really liked it. I had checked several other homestays in the same price range nearby, and this one was easily the best, most others had a slight damp smell, but this one was fresh and clean. My first-floor room was spacious and well-ventilated, and I didn’t experience any odor in the room or bathroom. The breakfast was simple but wholesome, and the staff were very warm and accommodating. You need to request room cleaning when needed, which was fine for me. They also have a small shared kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, gas stove, and basic utensils, which makes it convenient if you want to cook simple meals or prepare tea/coffee. Overall, it’s not a luxury property but a very comfortable, well-located, and great-value stay. Highly recommended for budget travelers looking for a clean and convenient base in Ubud.

The only minor downsides were the absence of a bidet spray (only tissues provided) and slightly slow drainage, though neither was a major issue.

Breakfast was delightful😀a choice of tea, coffee, or freshly made juice, and the staff were friendly. The Wi-Fi is super stable and fast.

It’s not easy to drive a car in, as the alley is very narrow, and the bathroom is not well-ventilated.

Little warm home

It's a very nice and cozy place in a very little steet of ubud. Swimming pool it's clean and very nice, you can always enjoy it. Breakfast it's very good, the madame is very kind and her little boy is so cute. Close to center and all the things you can do. We spend only one day here as we are on a trip but I can highly recommend this place.

It's not a proper thing we don't like but we recommend to leave on the AC as it's full of mosquitos during the night (like in all the place with close swimming pool in ubud).

The breakfast was absolutely amazing! It was so delicious! What a way to start our day.

The shared kitchen in the area we stayed, really didn't look like it gets used much. Uncared for. We purchased an electric kettle and some cups for our room, which saved us needing to use it. No little fridge in our room. Some of the rooms may have. There was one in the shared kitchen, however I didn't open it...

A little tucked in place 😊

The staff was very attentive, friendly, helpful and warm. They responded very promptly. Breakfast was plentiful and the accommodation has a water refill service. The pool was sufficient to cool off and it was in a quiet location.

The accommodation is located in a very small lane, often 2 cars are very squishy and patience wreck with short tempered drivers. So this was the most challenging thing for us, although we walked most of times to places. The bathroom was not the cleanest, residual urine stench was a bit disturbing.

Main problem was not clean at all : mold stains on the ceiling (no smell though it’s just visual) and a little hole with water dripping when raining. It’s only in one room from what I saw. Had to ask them to clean again because I found some trash in bathroom and in night table.. Bathroom has mold on ground and has never been deeply cleaned. I preferred walking with flip flops in bathroom. (Exception: bed sheets were good and clean). Only minimum furniture (desk, wardrobe, night table) not decorated, a light for the night table would be nice.

The courtyard, the pool and the terrace were wonderful. The breakfast and the wifi were great. The room is big and the bed is comfortable.

The very dirty and smelly bathroom. We stayed for 6 days and nobody came to clean the room, to take the garbage or to change the towels and bed linen. The room and the bathroom are dirty, the furniture is poor and very old.

The lady who worked there was really nice and she made tasty breakfast for us. The bed is really comfortable. The AC worked great. I really enjoyed the pool. And as it is a side street from the main road it was pretty quiet at night. It was a great location, close to walk everywhere, and there were lovely warungs (local restaurants) on the street with tasty local food and much cheaper than on the main road. And also on the same street there was a really good scooter rental place. We really enjoyed staying here.

Only minus that the room was dirty, especially the bathroom and the wardrobe was broken, that you can't open it and also the shelves were dirty,so you don't want to store your stuff in there.

Dissapointing

The room is large and the lady who brought breakfast is very sweet. That's the only good points I have.

The smell of mound and mildew is extreme. The shower floor doesn't drain so you constantly step through a puddle. The pool needs filtered, it's green and slimey. The kitchen facilities and room in general are below standard for clean. Thete are dogs barking constantly and the bathroom has open air window so its very loyd. There is no reception or greeting upon arrival. Taxis do not like to collect you since it is located at the end of a very narrow road. Pictures are not a true representation at all. Staff is not very helpful for arranging taxis or tours. There is a communication kitchen with a water cooler but it is filthy. There are dish sponges mounding in the tray. The fridge is dirty. No plug in near the bed.

Feel like my grandma's country house, and not in a good way

The location is great, many things can be reached without a bike. The area and the guesthouse a quiet enough, nobody and nothing woke us up without our will. The pool was empty almost all day, so it was comfortable to swim. The breakfast choice is wide, and you can choose the comfortable time

It was hard to live in the room. The curtains were in mold and walls were covered with humidity and we couldn't fight it: the aircon was old as well + we could close the window properly, it had a hole big enough to let the geckos in, and they visited our room all the time. We got two "tired" grey towels. We tried to use the cupboard, but the door fell off. It was hard to brush my teeth because in the mirror I saw only my legs and not my face. The bathroom was not designed thoroughly, so the water stays on the whole floor after the shower, and you just can't avoid it. Even the trees around were yellow and dry! The kitchen on the second floor looked dangerous, and the frying pans were so old and dirty that we were afraid to touch them. There was no drinking water as well. The breakfast was more or less okay, but we received a little bit of rotten fruit two times. We were able the stay for three days because we left the place in the morning and came back late just to sleep. Otherwise, we would leave the place and then ask for a refund

Kind staff, comfortable homestay

The staff was so kind and helpful. Breakfast was great with plenty of options and served on your balcony at a requested time every morning. The pool was really nice and the kitchen was very useful (one kitchen per 2 rooms). The location is about a 10 minute walk down to the main streets of Ubud via a well-lit and safe road with a few warrungs on it.

The room was a little outdated, with the plasterboard falling off in most places. But for the price, it's expected and didn't make any difference to our stay really.

Excellent hosts! Made our stay extremely comfortable

The host, Ayu, was extremely helpful throughout the whole of our stay (we stayed 30 days). Ayu and her family provided us with everything we needed from drivers to take us to the airport, to scooter rental, breakfast in the morning and a long etc… We had a very comfortable stay and we felt like one of the family, and couldn’t recommend it enough. We didn’t use the pool or the shared Kitchen, but the room was OK. We felt at home and welcome throughout the whole of our stay.

In the room, there were signs of humidity on the ceiling, and there was only one plug in the whole room. They provide a multi-socket for multiple plugs but that didn’t work for us. Charging phones and gadgets was a bit of a challenge… but we coped for the month no problem. It’s located about 5 minutes from the main street in Ubud, and at night, if you don’t have a scooter the road is a bit dark (although it’s extremely safe). The bathroom isn’t amazing, but it’s relatively clean. All of the above are just minor details for the host to improve their homestay and make it even better than it already is.

Perfect place for any kind of stay

This place is truly magical. Location is perfect - a walkable distance to the Ubud city centre (5-10 minutes, well-lit street so it’s safe during the night), but on the other hand, is not right in the middle of the city so you can find silence and peace. Room is big, very clean, bathroom is great. Very comfortable bed. Mirror in the wardrobe. Good wifi. Fantastic breakfast - we could choose from many options an evening before. There are vegetarian and gluten/lactose-free options too. Lady from the staff was cooking well and she was always very accommodating. This place has also cute swimming pool - very clean, with place to sunbath but also with some shade if you don’t want to catch any sunburn. Every room has terrace/balcony with chairs and table to eat breakfast and enjoy the fresh air. We were so in love that we extended our stay - it’s best to contact them outside booking for the best prices. Highly recommended! Extremely good value for this price. I will come back again for sure.

Just to be aware, they don’t organise any tours or transport, but you can easily find it anywhere on the street for a good price. So it’s not really negative, but this place was perfect so hard to find anything.

Wonderful stay in Ubud.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They provide free breakfast for our little one & got fresh juice, coffee & tea for the welcome drink which really nice gesture of them.

I'm absolutely happy with my stay there! Clean and spacious room with cosy bed, great shower with both very hot and very cold water, good smell inside the whole property, clean swimming pole and kitchen - I can talk a lot about how good is this place. Very nice staff who are open to discuss any question you need. Delicious breakfasts and whats more you can choose different variant from a big option every day and staff will prepare it any time you want. So I strongly recommend this place in Ubud and will stay here again too for sure. Terima kasih banyak, Sampai jumpa!

The room is spacious and it’s clam. The staff was really friendly and you get a great breakfast in the morning. You can even choose between different options every morning.

Make sure to search the location on Google maps under the name: Gusti Taman House. Under Kertayasa you cannot find anything on Google Maps. There is no 24/7reception, however you can always reach them via Booking.com chat function and they are really helpful.
