Great location, in easy walking distance to the town centre.
Struggling to find anything we didn’t like. I suppose the fact that the car was parked away from the property is the only downside; however not really an issue.

The communication from our host Alice was excellent from booking to throughout our visit. The house is a little gem in a brilliant location, lovely and cosy for a winter stay. Great for anyone wanting to self cater. Highly recommend!

The location was perfect for us. It was 8 minutes walk into the town centre along paths away from the main roads, and access by car was simple approcahing from the A14. We did easy day trips to Norwich and Cambridge using their park & ride buses as well as exploring Bury St Edmunds itself.
The kicthen was well equipped and had sharp knives.
The cottage is very compact and the layout meant that there was not much worktop space in the kitchen for preparing food. That won't be an issue if you want to eat out / takeaway food but I like to cook from scratch.

House had everything you need for short or longer stay. Well equipped kitchen if you like to cook. Tea, coffee, sugar and cupboard basics there too. Bed comfy, great sleep, traffic outside but hardly heard it. Excellent location - 15 minute stroll to town centre or beautiful Abbey gardens (5 mins to best pub in town, Rising Sun, vast variety of craft ales). Host, Alice, quick to respond to enquiries. Look forward to future stay.

The lady who rented the property was clear with her instruction by email of how to get the key on the day of my arrival . and very friendly to speak to on the phone . has i have speech issues. The retreat house is in walking distance to the Arc shopping centre about 10 mins away. close to the railway station in bury you can walk there has well takes about 15mins or less and you can catch a bus near the property has well . There was a co -op shop in the same road about 4 mins on foot and close a garage for petrol and shop close by in the same road . there was parking near by has the lady explain i did not need this has i was travelling on foot . taxi where reliable i used either A1 taxis or getaway taxis while staying in the area. The house was spotless the heating worked well was warm while staying at this property
bury is hilly other that that it a nice place too visit.

It was clean comfortable and the location
sickly sweet smell which I think was probably the air freshener plug in but having the windows opened helped

Location was excellent. Couldn't ask for better really. Close to town, and a supermarket only 2 minutes walk the other way.
Traffic noise. And bed was a little too soft for us. But that's just us. Consequently, we didn't sleep too well.

Wonderful location to the centre of town.
There is no washing machine and that would have been very handy. Bed was comfy but feels like it’s on its last legs.

Not a lot really

No breakfast, the location was very good
Nothing, everything was fine and worked

Location was excellent, and although the parking was not by the property, it wasn't a problem as there was a pelican crossing immediately outside the door.
It was handy having a separate dining room from the lounge.
Heating and hot water provision was excellent.
We would have preferred a slightly firmer mattress.
A low table in front of the settee would have been useful.
Colourful planters in the garden would enhance the appeal for anyone staying in spring or summer.

Very clean and tidy
Not so much dislike, however the sofa could of been a little bigger so a couple could relax on it, also maybe a tv in the bedroom would of been ideal,

The property is a one bedroom house in walking distance of Bury town centre. Everything was clean and fresh and communication throughout was quick and easy. We really enjoyed our stay.
The property faces a busy road, but road noise wasn’t a problem.
Front door lock was temperamental, but we always managed to get in !

The location was very good. Easy access within walking distance from town centre.
Housekeeping very poor, overall smell inside property, Oven smelt greasy and there was food debris inside. Toilet left with urine in the pan and something a little more sinister on underside of seat. Floors throughout property looked as if they had not been cleaned as debris on floors throughout. Bush in front garden over growing the path making access difficult. Did not like the parking facility, car was out of sight of property.

Serene tiny house. Good location. Well kitted out. Sunny(we were lucky!) back courtyard. Handy local co-op shop.
Could be noisy at night with passing delivery lorries.
Suggest 2nd bedside table and lamp.

Great comms with host. The location was 15 min walk to the centre of town but there were plenty of short term, carparks if needed. Quiet neighbours. It's on a busy road but excellent windows! Great location for shops and train/bus stations

Smashing little house, clean, comfortable and convenient for the centre. All the communication with Alice was quick and informative.
Nothing, it was perfect.

Very good location that was a close walk (5-10min even with a young child) to town but far enough away to be pretty quiet. It was also a short drive to Suffolk Barn where our friend was getting married. Alice’s home was very nice with great amenities and cute outdoor space that was quiet and private. The home was visibly clean and smelled nice. It worked for our short stay and we were quite pleased ☺️
It’s suitable for 3 people but not ideal if you have a young child because they either have to sleep downstairs on the pullout sofa by themselves or one parent has to sleep on the pullout. The upstairs bedroom steps are quite steep which might not work for people with disabilities, a young child or elderly persons. While the home was clean, there was quite a bit of dust coming off the carpet and bedding, and my little one and I had allergies

I really liked the private backyard and the dedicated parking. The bed was very comfortable and the house was clean and airy. It is a ten minute walk to the Abbey and gardens and has a convenience store 2 minutes walk up the road. I drove down to Sutton Hoo and it was really easy to get in and out of town. I really enjoyed my stay and I wish I’d booked a longer stay.

Great location, short walk to the town centre and good parking close by, I drive an electric vehicle and there is a number of destination chargers at St Andrews Long Stay (£4.20 a day plus charge costs). Hone had everything you need for a comfortable self catering stay.
Nothing, everything is good

Good location and good directions to the property and parking. The house was comfortable and warm and in good order. With the exception of the kitchen which could have been cleaner it was clean

Ease of access via key safe
Handy parking facility
Location suited us superbly well
Good clean modernised accommodation
A lot going for it… however
Shower head insert was a little loose
Stiff rear door mechanism needs attention as does some of the blind cords

The property was amazing. Great Location. The Owner was so helpful. Will definitely stay there again.
8.0 / 10.0
Location great for sight-seeing
Quite difficult to find as street numbering system is eccentric and there are two halves to Risbygate separated by an island. Even locals of whom we enquired were flummoxed. Small map would have been helpful.
10.0 / 10.0
House was lovely inside, with all facilities you would want. Decor was homely and the bed was really comfortable! I enjoyed staying in a house rather than being cooped up in a hotel room. Properly is close to town so it was easy to get to shops and restaurants etc.
The only downside was the property is on a main road, so having the window open to keep cool during the night meant we could hear all the traffic.
