Little cozy haven on top of a hill

I loved the location of this little safe haven. As a matter of fact, I'm absolutely coming again. It was everything that I needed for my solo trip. I felt really cozy, I had all I could need to make myself little warm pasta in this weather, have a cup of coffee. The view made me inspired to go out and explore, while this sweet abode was tempting me to stay in and curl up with a book.

Nothing? Probably how my lungs were fighting walking up to this place, as the hill was steep! But that's more of a me issue, haha.

Coach house

Lovely little converted coach house. Great if quirky layout, all you need for a short break. Easy walk down to the river, not quite as easy on the way up.

A little welcome pack, coffee/tea/milk and sugar would be nice

A lovely place to stay for a long weekend

Great location, away from all the hustle and bustle of traffic. As soon as we stepped into the carriage house, it smelt clean and was indeed, lovely and clean. It had everything you needed for a long weekend stay. Cozy lounge area with easy heating control if required. Small kitchen with all the basics. The bedroom was downstairs next to a shower and toilet room. The shower was great, and the bed was comfy. Outside, there was plenty of room for parking and an outside seating area which was great for an early morning cuppa or an evening chill, looking at the amazing view. To get to the main street, it was only a short walk away.

A small freezer compartment would have been handy for ice packs for packed lunches.

A small but perfectly formed place to stay with loads of character and charm in a quiet environment.

Very clean and full of character features. Excellent use of small spaces. Set in very quiet environment on the hillside with all the facilities and features that you need. The hustle and bustle of Matlock Bath is less than half a mile (800 metres)down the hill.

We know it is difficult because of the small space but a microwave would be brilliant and a colander to drain pasta or vegetables. Everything else was great.

Perfect two night break. Plenty to do locally would definitely recommend the Abraham Heights within walking distance.

Peaceful location. Ideal base to explore lots of nice walks on the door step. Weather was beautiful when stayed so the patio set outside was ideal to sit out and enjoy the peace and quiet and views.

We enjoyed everything about our stay. Some people may find the walk back up the hill from the town a bit steep but we enjoyed the exercise and wasn’t a problem for us,

Liked very much, the owners have given much time to make it just right, place was totally spotless & very peaceful to sit outside & watch the world pass by..

Would have loved a microwave, but totally understandable very little room & only one small thing for a coffee lover I would have totally been over the moon if I had got my little hands on a cafetière & just a little ground coffee ….😎. ..lucky I had packed my little one with a stash of Audi coffee..( I feel it’s so good for the price…) I know that’s a personal thing & you can’t provide everything…thanking you, your bold hole was just what I needed…

We had everything we needed. The place is small but it's perfect and well equipped and Lucy was very helpful. And you can walk to the town centre to grab a bite or walk along the river (as long as you're in good shape to walk back up!). We couldn't have been happier.

The road up the house is narrow and steep but I think the location and comfort once you get there are worth it : )

Comfy bed & sofa, good shower. Owners very helpful.

I would have liked to have a microwave it would gave been much easier than the oven. (Which had no instructions how to use it). Leaflets for local attractions would have been helpful.

An immaculate one bedroom, two storey lodge with parking.

A small and perfectly formed lodge house with parking. Quiet, immaculate, with a kitchen, shower room and a very comfortable double bed. A short walk downhill into Matlock Baths with all the eateries, watering holes etc. Great communication with the owner, directions were spot on. Will stay again when I’m back in the area, highly recommended.

Perfect spot for a nice relaxing weekend away

Spotless clean, quiet, peaceful, modern, comfortable. Everything you need for a short stay. Bonus points for even having hot chocolate packet’s especially as I can’t drink tea/coffee. Never seen anyone have those before. Made a huge difference 😉

Not the easiest to find if I’m honest. Directions and signs could of been clearer. Also the walk to a from is steep and so wouldn’t be suitable for all. But doesn’t stop you driving it 😉

The cottage was so cute and cozy. It is absolutely perfect for a romantic getaway! The cottage itself was such a high standard and everything was so clean. We would definitely recommend

The only thing i would say is make sure you take note of the directions supplied by the owners sat nav takes you past the property and it is very tight to turn around.
