Exceptional hotel

Attention to detail, absolutely nothing was a hassle for any staff member. As my husband is a wheelchair user they went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

Great hotel in a great location

The location and quality of this hotel was more than expected. There is an onsite restaurant and the food was very good. The room we had was comfortable and clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was beautiful and walkable to town shops and other places. The breakfast was fantastic and more than we expected.

There wasn't really anything I can say we didn't like. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Disappointing room - but still love this hotel

this was my second stay at The Elephant Rock Hotel and the staff, breakfast and overall atmosphere was just as great as my first visit

My room was incredibly dark and uninviting. If I go back again I will certainly be asking not to be put into the same room. I was really surprised at my disappointment as my first visit to this hotel was so impressive.

Welcoming stay in a perfect location

Lovely hotel in a perfect location along the prom. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the food was delicious. The beds were extremely comfortable. Every detail of the decor has been thought in detail. Well done to all involved.

Only minor comment is that you have to walk through the bar areas to get to reception. But they have made a fantastic job of the house and used the space as best as they could have.

Dreadful sorry wont be back.

Breakfast was just ok i had fry it was sloppy fried egg had black bits on it sausage tasteless and felt it was very rushed and we felt we were a nuisance no one asDreadfil ked was it ok.

I didnt request a quiet room ? Anyway we had an disability room it was my fault as I didnt realise it was disability room when I booked. It was a terrible room dark and gloomy and a window looking on to reception area so people could see in and out. The decor was awful everything clashed carpet was hideous dark green walls in my opinion a room like this should be white. To be honest I couldn't wait to get out of it. In contrast we stayed one night previous at The Gateway hotel in Dundalk and for the same price it was magnificent. I felt the room we stayed in at Elephant Rock was like an office was terrible

Not my first stay here; we came back again and it was just as good as before. From the welcome at the door, offers to carry our bags, table service at the bar... I just enjoyed the feeling of being treated like a guest. Facilities were superb, no trouble parking and even breakfast felt that little bit special. When you see the run-down couldn't-care-less attitude of 'cram them in and take the money' hotels not far away this is worlds apart.

Over seasoned brekkie

Our breakfast was over seasoned and very salty. Bacon salty which you'd expect but not the sausage and definitely not the mushrooms or scrambled eggs. Somebody definitely heavy handed with salt and seasoning.

Good. I would stay there again.

I was with a group of friends and there was no communal area to meet in, other than the bar. However the weather was good and we were able to get out and enjoy the fabulous beach. All rooms do not have a sea view.

Nice but noisy

The decor, bed very comfortable

Far too noisy. We didn’t get much sleep as you can hear everything from above and below. The room above us was so loud in the sense that the floorboards creaked every time they moved and they walked about most of the night. We could also hear them use the bathroom! Such a shame as everything else was lovely. Very overpriced though
