Really enjoyed our stay in the Matcha Lanta Resort. The owners were very friendly and helpful, from organising transport to hiring scooters, the rooms were super clean and the balcony was the ideal spot to have a beer and cool down after a day by the beach. This place should be a 4 star stay and we expect it will be soon!

Lovely stay at Matcha Lanta

Lovely spacious bungalows in a quiet location and only 20m from the beach. It was well run, had brand new scooters available to rent and Bruno was very happy to help with anything.

Not what I thought.

Quiet. Great motor bike.

Poor shower hot water. Sourwandig area dirty. Non pleasant way to the sea. Muezzin noise.

Perfect stay for a couple

Great location, beautiful garden outside and comfortable room. An additional breakfast is available for only 200bht and has everything you need. The staff is really friendly and as someone traveling to Thailand for the first time, I would recommend it to anyone! There is a beach exactly behind the accommodation and the location of the resort is great with many restaurants, 7-Eleven, gym, markets, etc. Highly recommended!

Great base to explore Ko Lanta close by and further away

Clean room and well-kept garden. Large rooms, with sufficient horizontal space to put stuff, and to hang clothes, which is well thought through and uncommon in Thailand. Good location, great motorbike service through their partner, and well-suited to book various excursions directly at the reception. The owner couple as well as staff are super friendly and helpful in case anything is needed.

Clean Cottages

The cottage was clean and well serviced. Staff were helpful. The communal kitchen was also clean & tidy.

The only letdown was the lack of sunbeds or chairs on the indicated beach. Either side was better dressed for sun and sea enjoyment.

Heart of Ko Lanta

Beachside, close to convenience stores, restaurants, bars and massage. I was there for three weeks of low season so almost had the place to myself. Staff on site were very kind and also respected privacy when I slept in late. Being on the beach it was an easy stroll to eat out as often as you liked.

Took a few rides to get the local Tuk Tuk drivers to give me an even price, and it was only thanks to advice from Matcha staff that I realised they were 'taking me for a ride'... :) Loved my stay. Highly reccomend.

Very comfortable rooms. Private studio villas. Good WiFi. Fridge, aircon. Newly refurbished. Excellent staff. 50 metres from beach. Pool and restaurant use at resort next door. Shops and massage nearby. Heaps of bars and restaurants along the beach. Excellent value for money.

Not very pleasant !

Breakfast was minimal but ok ! Staff were great !

The place is really catering for backpackers and young holiday makers ! Small rooms , long walk to beach , very few restaurants in walking distance ! Booked for 10 days left after 3 ! Lucky we drove there so could drive around the island !

Peaceful, newly renovated cottages with comfortable bed

Lovely cottages and garden. Bed was medium firm but not rock hard. Room is newly renovated and has a new quiet aircon. 2 mins walk to the beach. Can dip in the water at high tide but better to wear booties to avoid getting cut by rocks. Good buffet dinner from 7pm and fire show at the sister hotel next door. 3 mins walk to 7-11 and other restaurants along the road. Adorable cats. Bird song (not too loud and not of roosters) in the morning.

Beside a mosque so awakened each morning at 5am. Noisy fridge. No water and coffee refills when my room was not cleaned

Very clean, super nice staff, affordable and right next to the beach. The resort dosen't have a pool but the place right next to it on the beach has and you are able to use that one. Had 4 nights booked here but ended up staying additional 4 nights!

Best choice in Koh Lanta!

The resort is beautifully located in a street with many shops, 7/11 and massage salons. Also directly on the beach. The resort is clean, very luxurious, and the staff is amazing. It’s a new resort and you can sense they made the right choices. The bed is so comfy aswell. There is currently no pool, but you can use the one from the sister property. Only 2 min walk and it’s a nice pool. We have seen where the new pool will be build, in the middle of the resort and it will become quite big! Linda helped us with everything we needed and she also booked a snorkel excursion to Koh Rok & Koh Ha for us. We would recommend everyone to do this excursion, it’s amazing.

Exceptional

Linda and all the staff at El Matcha are simply AMAZING. Linda is one of the kindest hosts of anywhere I've stayed in thailand, nothing is too much trouble. Really comfy beds, pillows like clouds and exceptionally clean rooms. Beach only a few meters away and you get full use of the sister hotel next door which is great as you cant swim in the sea in the afternoon once the tides out. Limited but good choice on the breakfast buffet. All in all they made our honeymoon here a great one. Will return again, thank you Matcha team.

PERFECT STAY!!!

Everything was fantastic; comfortable, clean, great location, breakfast was great….the absolute BEST STAFF!!! SUPER friendly and accommodating. Linda was wonderful; she answered all questions we had, booked us transportation from the ferry to resort, booked our tour for us hassle free! We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay! Will be back for sure!!!

A great comfortable stay that I'd go back to!

Everything is pretty new and clean. Nothing fancy but all the basics are there and it was a very comfortable few days of stay for me. Particularly kind and helpful to me was Linda at the front desk who saw me walk in with a limp(hurt mt back snorkeling really bad) and she genuinely cared and offered advice. It was heart warming. And the room service ladies are a cheerful bunch who came to clean my room every day! This is not the standard service one could rely on in koh lanta as i found out during my weeks of staying there. And the gardeners were also always present to clean and water the plants or whatnot. Just a minute away is the beach where it's almost never crowded and you can swim and even do a bit of snorkeling there (not great coral but definitely lots of fish. They're also building a swimming pool now which should be completed later this year which would make this place even more comfortable I think. Will definitely come back if i return to lanta again and will recommend this to everyone!!

The mini fridge in the room is a bit loud and i had to unplug it at night. But it's well stocked with beer and coke and everything!

The bungalow room was clean and big enough for 2 people. It seemed to me that everything was new and freshly painted. Breakfasts were perfect, for me the best compared to other accommodations in Thailand. All the staff were very nice.

The bathroom was quite small and the shower close to the toilet so everything was wet after getting out of the shower. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom.
