Lovely apartment well located but difficult access

No breakfast required but good location

Access via dark rear entrance not good. Entering gate key in the dark not easy! Outdoor metal steps not good especially in the rain with cases

Do your research on the 'cafe bar' Slinky's before you consider booking this apartment in West Kirby

The apartment looks like the pictures that are advertised on the listing. The layout of the apartment is good, there are nearby shops.

The listing does not explain exactly how loud the music coming up from the bar below actually is. I booked for 5 nights with my 7 year old. On the first (and only night we stayed) the party started early and continued until midnight and every beat of music, cheers from the crowd and every lyric from every song was booming through the apartment non-stop. I had to move out after the 1st night as it was impossible to stay there. No resolution was found with the owner (who owns and sublets the said bar by the way), who suggested instead I contact the bar manager myself to see when over the remaining 4 nights, they will turn the music off. Customer service = 0/10 on that one, sorry Simon! I was offered a small partial refund, but this was nowhere near close enough for me to find and cover the cost of alternative accommodation on Xmas eve for the next 4 nights, so I await further updates from Simon or someone from Booking.com to resolve this outstanding issue. My advice to the landlord: 1. update accurately the listing - 'soundproofing' is not true, 2. remove the 'quiet hours from 9pm' clause as this is highly misleading to the point of being a lie, in fact I think you should advertise the opening and closing times of Slinkys so that people have an idea of approximately (give or take +2 hours) when the music might go off - photo added for ease of everyone! 3. do not rent out this property to anyone else until you have resolved the communication issues with the person you have leased the bar out, and 4. don't blame your customers for your prices being cheap, the market being quiet or the fact that I booked 3 months in advance, as to why you would find it hard to rent again at short notice because I left. If the above is not enough to understand fully my reason(s) for not staying and requesting a reasonable refund, you have my number. Call me.

Comfortable and very enjoyable stay in a comfortable and well designed apartment.

Good location. Comfortable, modern and well appointed apartment.

Only problem was the fact that the hot water was not working on the Saturday morning due to a boiler problem. This was fairly rapidly rectified although it did introduce a slight delay to our day.

Check in could have been smoother , confusion over key missing from key box . Sorted quickly though Not enough towels for amount of people staying , more were promptly brought, suggest towels need to be replaced as very rough. Noise from cafe/bar below very loud , stairs to enter the apartment could be difficult for less mobile people or children.Nice outdoor area, although all the pot plants around the edge dead.

Lovely property with helpful hosts.

Beautifully decorated, lots of extra touches, hosts who responded within minutes to any problem. Perfect location right in the town but still quiet.

I had one issue with the heating (it happens) BUT it’s how problems are dealt with that matters - help on hand and sorted. Excellent communication.

Excellent location, close to the beach, marina, bars, restaurants and shops. The apartment had all the facilities you need for a lovely stay. The patio area was perfect with patio doors giving easy access. Good communication with the owner. Stayed an extra day

Delighted we chose to visit West Kirby to celebrate our retirement - it didn’t disappoint.

West Kirby is a place at ease with itself and welcoming in many ways - lots of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. We enjoyed visiting Ness Gardens, walking to Hilbre island and Hoylake as well as relaxing and walking around the sea lake and parks. Great food in each place we visited. The apartment was clean and comfortable and we appreciated the welcome pack and the generous shower room products. The apartment is near the station, a large Morrisons, and we found parking spaces in adjacent streets. A family of three would be comfortable in the large double and single box room.

bathroom was mouldy as there wasn’t sufficient ventilation. Black mould to silicone areas and high on bathroom walls from insufficient exhaust fan. Property condition was fair and in need of a new coat of paint particularly to hallways.

Toilet door cant be closed & needs re-hanging. Lights switch in lounge works when it feels like it.Rear accsess stairs are a bit of a effort although apparently they are due replacement soon.Other than that very nice stay and would recomend it.

very tastefully fitted out with good quality materials. Basic food requirements were provided and the place had a welcoming field.

Great apartment

I was traveling up for the weekend with my brother and sister in law for a family wedding. The apartment was perfect for our requirements it is in a great location in the centre of West Kirby close to all the facilities and Mersey rail. We piked up a bottle of wine from the local morrisons and fish and chips and went to watch the sunset over the Dee a must for any visitor and just round the corner from the flat. The flat was clean and tidy the communications were excellent getting into the apartment was straight forward and simple what's not to like.

Good for night owls.

It’s a well presented flat, very clean and warm with some nice touches such as teabags, wash products and the kind gift of a bottle of wine. The flat is spacious and furnished thoughtfully. The area is pleasant and close to the local amenities and train station as well as being very close to the water. Some lovely places to eat nearby.

So unbelievably noisy. It’s literally the top rooms above a very popular and noisy bar with banging dance music playing. The bedrooms were the noisiest part of the flat. This goes on from early evening til the early hours. Then noise in the morning from extraction fans etc as it is a commercial property. The beds are very uncomfortable, I found this with the noise meant I barely slept for the three nights. This is only an option for someone who is planning to be out late into the night and doesn’t mind very hard beds!

A lovely quiet flat in a great location in West Kirby a couple of minutes walk from the Marine Lake.

The flat is perfectly clean and everything we needed was there. It is quiet, well equipped and nicely decorated. Excellent shower cubicle. Some thoughtful welcoming touches too: sweets, wine, milk, olive oil, tea bags and coffee. The owners clearly want to provide top quality accommodation.

Only two things spoil this otherwise brilliant flat: Entrance is only via a shared back alley way which is of course a bit grimy and dirty and a little dark. You need a torch to see the combination pad on the door lock. Access is up via an external metal staircase to a flat terrace area. Not great for carrying suitcases etc. We did have to look around a bit for parking but there was always a space in the next street.

Noisy neighbours of a night and woken early with beer drums being rolled. Wi-Fi was really poor but the main issues was the beds were really uncomfortable and the pillows felt like you didn’t have any as they turn into pancakes after 2 minutes. No heating as it looked like the boiler had a problem on the radiator side. No storage for clothes in the single bedroom is a major disappointment. Lastly the stairs leading up to the property are really steep and slippery and I certainly wouldn’t want to go up then if it was icy or raining outside and not disabled friendly.
