Lovely apartment - access & parking issues.

We recently stayed at this modern two-bedroom apartment in Exmouth and overall had a good experience. The apartment itself is spacious, very well equipped, and spotlessly clean. It feels contemporary and comfortable, with everything you’d need for a relaxing stay. The location is also excellent, making it a great base for exploring Exmouth and the surrounding area.

The arrival process really lets the property down. Access is unnecessarily complicated and not clearly explained in advance. We had to phone the landlord for help due to insufficient information, which isn’t ideal—especially when arriving in poor weather. Collecting the keys involves two separate coded locks outside, and we were stood in pouring rain trying to work it out. The key box is behind a coded gate, amongst several others & isn’t labelled or numbered, and there are three identical-looking keys for two different deadlocks on the apartment door. To make things more confusing, one lock turns clockwise to open and the other anticlockwise, with no guidance provided. We weren’t informed that there is also another entrance to the block from the street. The garage parking itself is extremely tight due to large pipework framing around the pillars, which makes manoeuvring quite difficult. It’s worth noting that previous reviews appear to have mentioned similar access issues, so it would be great to see this improved. Clearer instructions, better labelling, and a simpler key system would make a big difference to what is otherwise a lovely apartment. With a smoother check-in process, this would easily be a top-rated stay.

Great flat in central location

The flat was central for everything. 3 minute walk to station, 2 mins to town, 10 mins to seafront. The flat was exceptionally quiet, very clean and was fairly well equipped. An added bonus was secure parking.

I felt very uncomfortable that the pillows and mattresses didn't have any hygiene protectors on them. The throw on the back bedroom had a dubious stain on it. The key safe is 'one of many' and not numbered, so its pot luck which safe is for the flat.

SEA BREEZE STAY WHICH ARE NOT CALLED SEA BREEZE ON THE BUILDING

We liked the modern look of the apartment. What we valued was the fact that it is a quiet apartment. We couldn't hear the traffic or any pubs and parties happening. The appartment was a cosy temperature. The beds were comfortable. It seemed to be a relatively safe are to stay. The apartment were nice and clean. Enough hot water to have a nice shower. The shower is nice and big. Enough space to move around. Which we liked, there were enough plates, cups and everything we needed.

It was very strenuous and exhausting just to find the apartment. The name "Sea breeze" is nowhere to be found. The block has a totally different name. To find the key safe where the key fob were located is nearly impossible to find. Pictures of the roller garage door, to side gate and the front gate coul have helped. It was pouring with rain and we had to try and locate the side gate where the key safe were. I ended up calling the landlord. The key safe has no number on it which made it even more difficult to know which key safe it was as there are several key safes. We had to try to use the code on several of the safes to find the right one, all the while it was pouring down with rain. At the end when we eventually had the key, the remote didn't work to open the roller door. I had to call the landlord again. She said she did replace the batteries. She had to direct us inside via the front door, where we struggled to unlock the door because the key is struggling to unlock the door, to manually open the roller door with a button on the inside. When the door was opened, we had to search for our parking bay. The numbers are so small it is not easy to find them. Then it was a hassle to park in the parking bay without damaging my car because there is a pipe around a pillar next to my parking space that is taking up a section of my parking space. The space is very narrow. When parked, we were exhausted! Then the roller door kept opening and closing without anyone pressing any buttons. We were not sure how safe and secure our car would be as anyone could come in when the door keeps opening and closing. We saw a gentleman coming into rhe car area and informed him about the door and he said he would see if he could perhaps get it right. When we got to the flat, it was another mission to find the right key to unlock the door as the keys are not colour-coded or marked. Inside the apartment, we were relieved just to be inside and get our wet clothes off.

Fantastic

The apartment was spotless, lots of little touches like the ornaments & pictures etc. Milk, coffee, tea & sweeteners provided when arrived. Lovely furniture, felt very comfortable.

Theres only a couple of things that would i would suggest, mattresses covers for the beds & possibly a shoe rack at the door when entering.

The beds. They felt a lower quality to the rest of the apartment as if they didn’t belong there. I would recommend upgrading the beds. The rest of the experience was excellent.

It was complicated to find the keys and then find our way in - a lot of codes etc to work out! But in a way that was good as it was very secure.

Very nice apartment. 2nd bedroom would benefit from a chest of drawers, as no where to put clothes apart from hanging on rail. But otherwise apartment was very well equipped.

Very clean, nice owner,

The picture showed it’s on the beach but actually it wasn’t. It was very hot and the windows needed to be left opened that made us hear seagulls throughout the night hence no sleep. I guess winters shouldn’t be a problem as windows will be shut.

Lovely apartment in a fabulous location.

Fabulous location, only a few minutes walk into town or to the seafront. Lovely, clean apartment with all mod cons, perfect for 4 adults. Secure parking was an added bonus.

Not much natural light in the back bedroom, was very dark. Bedding in the front (lighter) bedroom was a bit tired and worn, it had started to split on the seam.

The apartment is clean and comfortable with modern decor, it has every modern convenience and is stocked with extras like tea bags and shampoo. The location is close to the town square for amenities, and there is also an underground parking space for your car. Overall very convenient and good value for money

The instructions for getting in the flat were complicated and we were lucky someone had opened the first gate while we were there

Cannot be helped but location not great as there was alot of noise from people that were in the building opposite which seemed to be a drop in for less fortunate men When windows were closed this was not a problem...mattress in 2nd bedroom is worn and dips

Very central to town, beach, marina, no need to use the car. The apartment was very quiet and very comfortable and extremely clean. The car was parked securely in underground parking. Would certainly return , had a lovely stay.
