The property was great and the location was the perfect location just a stones throw from the harbour and pubs etc, beds were comfortable and the property was clean and tidy with parking included.

Great location. Close to beach, marina & 5 minute walk to town centre.
Only problem was the shower which suddenly went from hot to cold, so had to be quick. Not a deal breaker as used the bath instead.

The location is excellent, across the road from the seafront, 2 minutes walk from the marina, the Stuart Line Cruise Office and quayside.
It would have been slightly cheaper to use a hotel but we chose an apartment as we wanted to have access to a kitchen and be able to cook meals (there’s a very good wet fish shop in the marina). The electric hob is slow to heat up, but ok. However, it was a shock to use the oven and discover how poor it was at warming up at all. I eventually turned it up to the highest heat to get a moderately warm oven (it was an equally lengthy process to get the shower to run hot). The kitchen generally needs some TLC, with the edge of some cupboard doors showing damage and drawers positioned so that they can’t open fully.
High use surface areas and floors were well cleaned. However, the top cupboard above the extractor fan was very dirty, as were the edges of the floor and skirting boards in the bathroom. No washing up liquid had been provided, which probably accounts for why many cups etc were dirty. Overall, the apartment comes across as tired: walls have recently been repainted, but this fails to give a good finish, as the wallpaper has been repaired by patching in too many areas; none of the Venetian blinds in the front windows reach the bottom of the window and the three in the bay window differ in length from each other. The back yard, the first impression one gets of the property as it’s where you access the keys, is entered through a gate which has already decayed beyond effective repair and features plant pots with dead plants and healthy weeds.
I am sorry to point out these defects. The place has the makings of an excellent holiday let, but for the moment falls well short of its potential, I believe. One final issue is more serious but will, I’m sure, be remedied quickly: the lock between the apartment and the front hall of the building malfunctioned during our stay and refused to open. We had to go round through the front door and open with the key from the other side. This is a fire safety hazard.
