Beautiful Historic Hotel in Jackson

It's a beautiful historic hotel in Jackson. It's very close to restaurants (we ate at Luca's -yum). The bed and pillows were so comfortable. The new bathroom with the soaking tub was great. Staff were very helpful about recommending restaurants. We sat band relaxed in the lobby by the cozy fireplace. All in all an excellent experience.

Staff at arrival very unfriendly, inattentive as if it was a bother to respond to my questions, no eye contact, rude dismissive. I have mobility issues, called before booking, I am 5ft 1 and bed was extremely high, no accommodation for me, lastly stayed in Room 212 and leaky ceiling caused carpet to be wet/soaked in my room, pathway to bathroom.. told staff at check out.. nothing but “ it is unknown what can be done “ I had to report to Hilton complaint line

Everything i hoped it'd be.

The staff was friendly, location was great. It offered everything it promised. It is a comfortable historic hotel with all the details to make you feel like you stepped back in time but all needed modern amenities.

There wasn't anything I didnt like, however the parking was confusing.

Old charm in excellent location

Old look and style with modern, well equipped rooms.

Rooms very tiny with sink inside the room and almost unable to open the door due to armchair blocking the access. This was second time staying and first experience was better. Staff is exceptional and went above and beyond to help!

Very enjoyable

It is a small hotel that was originally built in 1851 and recently refurbished keeping as much of its unique qualities as possible. Loved it.

Nothing. We knew when we made the reservation that it wouldn't have a spa, swimming pool, or any of the amenities of larger fancier hotels and that's why we stayed there.

Lobby staff and breakfast staff was very nice. Cordial. Helpful. Omelet bar was excellent.

Reported cockroach in bathroom to the Lobby attendant. Bathroom sink was in bedroom and not in bathroom. I was told all rooms were the same configuration but found room on same hallway with sink in bathroom. No coffee service for a Hilton Honors classified hotel is unthinkable. Was a Hilton Honors member for many years under maiden name.

Overnight stay in a wonderful old historic hotel

This is a historic property that has been renovated. It was quiet and clean. We enjoyed the stay. Breakfast was standard fare and good. I'm not sure why the TV came on in the middle of the night when we were asleep with my name across the screen. Maybe it's haunted!

Because it is older, it lacks some room amenities such as coffee in the room, no bathroom counter space, and the pillows looked wonderful but had no substance or support so your head sinks straight to the mattress.

It's a beautiful boutique hotel. I loved all the decor.

The hotel is very pretty. I love the decor. Would have like to take a walk around to see more.

Had a hard time parking. There was a fair going on so we couldn't get to the hotel. The restaurant was closed for remodeling which we heard early that morning. The room was very small. Hard to move around with luggage in the way. Not sure if other rooms are bigger.

Comfortable and a great value

Great historical building. The water pressure in the shower was awesome, almost too much, but so many newer places have poor water pressure.

The rooms are very small, the TV is the size of a computer monitor or smaller, there is no mini fridge in the room to keep cold drinks or snacks. They should upgrade TV’s and add a mini fridge to make the rooms much better!

Stay at the National Hotel for a visit to the Victorian era of the Gold Country.

Great location in the very center of town along with convenient free parking. Although an historic building and decor, the amenities were very modern; i.e., the shower/bathroom; etc. The bed and linens were VERY comfortable--right up there with five-star hotels that offer their bedding for purchase!

Early May is the offseason, so the hotel restaurant was not open nor were there many options in the historic downtown area of Jackson. I would suggest the continental breakfast offer a few more choices such as toast and toppings other than just plain cream cheese for the bagels--there are individual packets of peanut butter and jams available that would be nice.
