Ostello Bello Roma Colosseo

Ostello Bello is probably the best hostel chain I have ever stayed at. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The gentleman at reception was very kind and always ready to help, and Ella, the manager, was very responsive and helped with everything I needed. The bartender was also excellent and very welcoming. I really appreciated the free vegetables, fruit, coffee and tea. The rooftop terrace was fantastic, and the atmosphere was great, with lots of friendly people socializing.

The only significant downside was the noise. The gatherings outside, especially around the ping-pong table, could be quite loud and sometimes made it difficult to sleep properly. They often continued past 11 PM. The hostel is very lively, which is great during the day, but it can be a little inconvenient at night.

Good location, close to some key sights, the people are the best, both the regular staff and the temp volunteers; had a lovely cooking and art and wine evening with Sofi, a fun walking tour in the heat with Carol, and great interactions with Giulia and some others - none will be alone at an ostello Bello unless they try really, really hard !

Coffee machine was on strike for two 30 min shifts but eventually got repaired 😉

Carla was amazing, everyone wqs friendly and it was nice seeing place build on trust 🙏

The price was quite high.

My stay started very well, the personel was helpful and the location is a bonus with a 5-10 min walk from the Coliseum and a 10min walk from the Metro and a 10-15 walk from the train station. I liked their rooftop facilities and how they had free pasta and ingredients for the guests to cook.

I didnt like how during the first night there were kids runing through the coridors knocking on the doors and shouting. I informed the hostel personel but they had a live event and couldnt manage the situation properly. By next morning I realized I had bed bags bites on my feet. Furthermore when I asked the local personel for information about trains and sightseeing they told me to google it. Overall the price for a two night stay was over rated.
