DolceVita Apartments N 489 San Marco

An excellent experience in every way! The accommodation is spotless, very comfortable, and equipped with everything you need. The host was extremely attentive and friendly (especially Rossana). I 100% recommend it! It’s very close to all the main attractions, and although it’s just a 3-minute walk from St. Mark’s Square, the location is in a very quiet area, away from the tourist crowds.

It’s clean, comfortable and super well located. The staff is super friendly and kind.

The location is amazing. It’s five minutes’ walk to St. Mark’s Square, which also brings you close to the landing stages of S. Zaccaria. Because the apartment is down a zigzag of alleys no tourists venture there and we had complete peace for sleeping, quite remarkable when just steps away the summer hordes are pouring through the streets. The apartment is small but perfectly adequate for three adults or a couple with a child. There’s ample wardrobe space in both bedrooms and an ironing board plus iron is there if you need it. There’s a washing machine in the kitchen and a crockery drying cupboard over the sink which is really useful. (No dishwasher, but this is definitely enough for a few days and a washing machine is clearly a priority for anyone on a longer trip.) We made good use of the microwave! The wooden shutters make the rooms really dark for sleeping.

We were happy with almost everything but a couple of inexpensive improvements could make it even better. A mirror over the large desk in the single room would make it more suited to an adult. (My sister had to occupy the bathroom to get ready for the day.) A waste paper basket in the bathroom and bedrooms would be very useful and save multiple trips to the kitchen. A few light bulbs didn’t work - the one over the bathroom mirror, the nice lamp on the chest of drawers in the main bedroom and the top one in the standing lamp there. There was still plenty of light however. The obviously practical stone floors are very cold so be prepared for that.

The attitude of the host Rosanna, she was very rude and uncooperative, even though we had been asked to either email, or Whats app her 5 days before arrival she would not accept our emails only what app, which we explained was difficult as we had no signal while travelling and had to rely on the internet connection at each accommodation, we didn't understand why if she took the trouble to email us back why she didn't give us the info by the email instead she would only accept whats app, She commented that she had 400 properties to look after and hadn't got time to contact by email. She said we had to book an appointment for an arrival spot and if we were late and hadn't contacted them no one would be there. She then asked we call her which we did and she was not answering her phone and accused us of not calling the whole experience was so stressful, and very unpleasant I think she had forgotten we were the customers, and was totally off hand we do feel we would like to put in a complaint as it very unpleasant and totally unnecessary, Also the air con didnt work in the sweltering heat. There was dirty utensils and cutlery I had to wash before using
