Location

The property was grubby, particularly a tissue with blood on it in the bedside draw unit in bedroom 1 and old orange peel between the sofa and the radiator in the lounge. There was no bedside table in either bedroom 2 or 3, as had been shown on the photos. However our main concern was the stairs. These were quite dangerous with a tight curve at the top, very narrow tread and no handrail. The whole staircase has a narrow tread, with pins or nails between the riser and the tread. The carpet is nylon and very slippery. Ideally there should be a different type of stair covering for better grip and handrails on both sides, particularly at the top. As we were packing up at the end of our stay, my daughter slipped on the stairs and broke her toe.

The house was spacious and clean. It had everything you needed including things like washing up liquid and towels.

Not wholly suitable for our group

Cleanliness, location, entry instructions, and facilities such as hot water, TV and wi-fi, iron etc all fine. The gas fire in the front room is nice. Having shops close by is helpful.

The house is a bit of a squeeze for 3 couples. Two of the rooms are fine but the third is not really a double room and it has nowhere at all to put your things. This was important since we needed to hang up our clothes somewhere since we were attending a wedding. Having the only bathrooom downstairs (and the stairs are steep) and at the back of the house was difficult for us - but may not be an issue for others. I think the house is described accurately but I did not pay sufficient attention to the detail.

The property was nice, comfortable beds, nice kitchen and easy to commute to work.

Our stay was marred by the poor organisation of cleaning etc and no one available to rectify problem

The location was good, and it was 1 minute walk to a supermarket for essentials. Shampoo, shower gel, sugar, coffee and tea was provided, which was nice but unexpected.

The property hadn’t been cleaned prior to our arrival at 18.30 hours. We could leave an answerphone message only but no one was available at that time to rectify the issue, so we had to sleep on other peoples dirty bedding and no clean towels. The issue was sorted the following day, but 30 minutes before our check out time we had the next guests banging on the front door asking why we hadn’t left yet, and someone from the cleaning take simply walked into the kitchen uninvited asking if we were ready to leave yet. Luckily we were packed and ready to go but the issues at the start and end of our stay spoiled the experience.

We had a great stay just a couple of niggles - no hairdryer, no wardrobe in small bedroom, only two garden chairs outside! Didn’t spoil our stay at all but just feel like these things are important to note!

Great value city house.

Overall we had a good stay. We were a multigenerational family away for a wedding. On a positive all the rooms were clean and tidy as you would expect. All the beds were very comfortable however the small room with the double bed is very cramped and not really suitable for 2 people, especially if you are tall, as the bed takes up most of the room. The galley style kitchen was equipped with basic utensils, but not enough mugs and glasses for maximum number of occupants. No oven gloves and surface protectors made cooking a problem and was very hazardous. We had a problem with the freezer which we reported and will hopefully be resolved. Unfortunately there were no cleaning products or dishwasher tablets which was surprising considering the current climate. The downstairs bathroom is a good size with an efficient shower, however being the only bathroom / toilet in the house with 7 of us, it was some what inconvenient and you would need consider this if booking for a large group. Parking states for 2 small cars, but they would have to be tiny, we managed to park 1 out the front on the road with no problem. Overall our stay was great value.

Lack of kitchen equipment, house is not really designed for 8 people especially with only one bathroom with a combined toilet. Dining area only has 6 dining chairs.
