No wifi, no food or water, overgrown and ghostly.

it feels like 25 years ago this might have been a beautiful place, now it’s a haunted mansion.

it’s a bummer because this property is beautiful, however the rooms are terrible & there’s nothing here. They don’t have any restaurant or food options, no drinking water, they don’t have Wi-Fi. Couldn’t find me a taxi out of here, the pool looks very murky and the bathroom by the pool is so horrendously disgusting i almost gagged. I walked into the old dining hall to find a lone caged parrot for absolutely no apparent reason - broke my heart. the first room i checked into the fan was broken and the door didn’t lock, second room is not much better. Wild dogs all around me, barking and fighting. Only screens and no glass over the windows. i will not be able to sleep much. Terrible, absolutely terrible stay. skip this one and go somewhere else. Zipolite is 13 minutes away, much better over there.

A lovely hotel in beautiful Puerto Angel in need of some TLC

The Buena vista is a beautiful hotel, though in need of some renovation and care.

The sheets on the bed had holes in them. Common areas needed sweeping and the walls of the room also needed a sweep. The cheaper room we first stayed in wasn't nice, but when we upgraded we really liked the room.

The view, the pool,the friendly staff are reasons for me to come back to this hotel when i'll visit Puerto Angel again.

Basic and clean.

The location of the hotel is nice and the exterior is truly lovely. The pool offers a spectacular view and the place is really quite peaceful.

The kitchen was not available for use and what is seen in the picture is not what what we got. The hotel is very basic. No hot water (which is not necessary for the heat, to be honest), the air flow in the room was pretty low and our room was very dark. Maybe other rooms were better, but what we got, is not what was we expected.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

A fabulous dream built by someone years ago who would be spinning in their grave to see it today! An architectural stone masterpiece by by someone of vision and big talent. The garden has not been attended for over a year. Railings are WILDLY unsafe! Dryrotted and a finger could push thwm over a 20 foot edge. The pool is dark green and not one sun chair on the pool deck.... This place obviously held upscale weddings etc in it's day and the excellent kitchen is well stocked with good equipment yet your room comes with exactly two towels. NOTHING ELSE. We asked for a water glass, wine glass anything....and a corkscrew.... "not allowed" Huh.... the front desk lady called the manager and when she hung up she said sorry we are not allowed. Nice vacation! Bienvenidos.... NOT!!! When we left the kitchen door was open.... in it's day this was the Ritz. Totally stocked, dishes in sink etc.... AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Lovely hotel

I loved this old slightly crumbling colonial style hotel. My room was amazing, huge, overhead fans, large balcony, huge bathroom... Staff very nice. The rooms vary a lot, so ask to see a couple if you don't like the first one you see.

The breakfast service was cancelled for random reasons (someone sick, no gas canister delivery...)

An interesting place with colonial architecture and a nice atmosphere, beautiful views from the dining area and the shared terrace, very quiet, great value

Breakfast could improve, omelette had raw veggies inside, the coffee was watery. Pool had swimming dogs in it and no spaces to sit or lie down. We didn't use it

Really charming hotel kept in slightly aging colonial style. Rooms are spread on different levels of the hill, with stone stairs that make walking around enjoyable. Surrounded by trees, so one can endlessly listen to birds singing and watch squirrels. The swimming pool with a beautiful view on the bay (many times I was alone to swim), great place to practice yoga! My room (number 6) was particularly great, with beautiful hand painted tiles in the bathroom, a balcony, many windows and a great view! delicious breakfast a la carte!

A relaxing and beautiful experience.

Beautiful, colorful old hotel. A bit run down in certain places, but very charming. I loved the vegetation, flowers everywhere, and the fact that name signs were posted by a lot of the trees and plants. The restaurant serves good breakfasts. I wished it was open for dinner too.

The town of Puerto Angel is quite loud with packs of dogs howling during the night, and roosters that have lost their sense of time. We used the fan as white noise, which helped us sleep.

For us it was terrible to see that a parrot was kept in a cage that was much too small for him!! He sits alone in the cage all day and cannot even fly a short distance. For us is that reason enough that we wouldn't book this hotel again. Birds should do for what they made! I hope the staff will change something about his situation 😔

nice pool and many many plants, nice layout. Good shower. Not a lot of options for breakfast but it is ok

room was dark and has a fan away from beds so you can’t really feel the air. One of the beds was impossible to sleep on totally bumpy and in really bad condition. this hotel is on a hill so there are LOTS of steps

The changing rooms at the pool were dirty, no toilet seat, the check in time at booking is not correct. Check in is at 3pm. But the staff tried to make it earlier

Me gustó mucho la alberca, el diseño del hotel y que hay mucha vegetación y terrazas.

El personal es un poco antipático y la hora en que hay alguien disponible por si necesitas resolver algo es hasta la 8 p.m. Aunque a mí no me molestó, no es recomendable para personas que les moleste subir y bajar escaleras.

El lugar está muy accesible, las instalaciones son frescas, tiene su alberca y áreas comunes en buen estado. Agradable lugar respecto a calidad- precio, y la atención de la recepción fue buena.
