The location was good. It was cheap.

I honestly didn't feel very safe, I was alone in the Female dorm but there was no way to lock the door so anyone could have come in during the night. Also there were cockroaches and smell in the bathroom.

Very relaxed hostel with a good vibe. Nice facilities in the rooftop bar and the pool room bar. Aircon in the bedroom was great, I slept very well here.

The location is central, I used a scooter to get around which worked great. But expect to do a fair bit of walking if that's how you want to get around Puerto.

Relaxing, friendly and comfortable

The aircon in the rooms was fantastic and the beds were very comfortable and you also have great privacy with the curtains. And a toilet and shower in the room was great. Excellent value for money and very helpful and friendly staff. I have been in Puerto Escondido 4 times and I've stayed here each time and it keeps getting better!

I loved the location and how Central it is. There are lots of cheap restaurants, supermarkets, local markets and shopping nearby. It’s a 15-30 minute walk to a lot of the beaches. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The kitchen functions well and the roof top is a really nice place to have breakfast in the morning with a nice view. The beds were comfy with curtains and lockers in the room (I stayed in the female dorm). Shower and toilet in the room. Drinking water available in the room.

The staff control the A/C and it was sometimes turned off during the night, which was fine with only 3 people in the room. But when the room was full the air in there got very hot and gross. The security could have been better, there are no locked doors to get into the hostel during the day so anyone could just walk in. There is music that plays very loud every night until between 12-2 AM so just be aware that you will probably need earplugs or white noise. The hostel isn’t very social if that’s the vibe you’re after although I can’t speak about the bar upstairs because I never did go chill up there at night.

Great location, well maintained room, not super socal hostel

the AC and hot shower was such a luxury and the room was cleaned well regularly. kitchen was great and I liked the roof top bar to hang out in. the location is amazing if you want to amongst the locals. there is good shops around if you need to restock your supplies and good food around. there is also a big supermarket less than 5 minute walk. close to the ADO bus station and 10-15 minute walk to the beach. El Coyote was my favorite hostel I stayed in in Puerto. to get some good rest in after being unwell. it’s not a social hostel but everyone is kind and friendly. I’m sure you can make some friends if you try. staff were really friendly and chill vibes, some of them engaging in good initiatives that aim to help the community with the harsh impacts of the rapidly growing tourism in Puerto.

there were only two showers for all the guests which felt a little dirty at times. there were termites close to my bed, I could hear them and the day before I left I noticed a lot of termite poo at the end of my bed. Wi-Fi was a bit patchy.

the staff is so friendly and welcoming, it’s very laid back. Our dorm had ac, lockers, a bathroom, and bed curtains for privacy. If we hadn’t been leaving the next day we would have checked in for longer

Great staff! I could arrive early and already have my dorm bed in the morning and I could leave my bags the last before taking a night bus, really convenient! The lady managing the place even gave me a better price for the two nights I stayed there! The hostel is also close to the ADO bus station. The beds have curtains which is great to feel some intimacy.

No lo recomendaría jamás

No nos dieron toallas ni sábanas para dormir. Además de que fue necesario recordarles de servicios básicos, tuvimos que preguntar varias veces si nos encenderían el clima. Creo que en si se podría mejorar la atención al cliente, se comprende que es un hostel, pero eso no tiene nada que ver con la amabilidad, además comenzaron a limpiar la habitación desde muy temprano y prácticamente nos corriero porque la chica comenzó a barrer trapear y aplicar fabuloso por todas partes y nosotros seguíamos cambiándonos y ya no pudimos ni usar el baño para hacer nuestras necesidades porque se estaba lavando y aún no era horario de salida.

Que el personal nos está al pendiente ya que en una situación por ejemplo en donde una persona se pone agresiva violenta con los demás pues no hicieron al respecto ejemplo de ello es que el día 13 de abril del presente año aproximadamente a las 3 de la madrugada un tipo empezó a alterar el orden de ahí del lugar tan es así que fue a la habitación donde nos hospedamos paraempezar a hacer un desorden y es una falta de respeto porque pues no está descansando pero el personal no hizo nada al respecto

Hostel muy precario y sucio.

La cama es cómoda. Eso es lo único que puedo salvar del hostel.

La cocina y ducha están sucias. Todo es muy precario. El dueño o encargado maltrata a sus empleados. No me ha gustado eso. El hostel no me ha trasmitido comodidad y está todo muy precario le falta mantenimiento. Por un poco más de dinero preferiría la próxima quedarme en un lugar mejor la verdad.
