It’s a wonderful well-equipped apartment in Vernazza.

What we loved about the property: It’s in Vernazza! It’s hard to find a reasonable 2 bedroom apartment WITH washing machine that’s NEAR the train station, but this is it! While the balcony doesn’t have the sea view, it was a nice hangout to enjoy the fresh cool breeze! There’s a small food to-go place called Pippo, just below the apartment. Very convenient when you don’t want to cook, or have a long sit down restaurant meal. Vernazza is a quaint town, so it’s an easy, straight walk to the cove.

Vernazza stairs! While it’s smooth luggage rolling with there’s no stairs from the bottom of the train station to the apartment building, the 2bedroom apartment is on the 2nd floor(European 1st floor). So you’ll need to climb a flight of stairs to reach a locked gate, then another flight to the apartment. While dragging our carry on luggage up the stairs was not ideal (the host offered to help), the reality is that other apartments in Vernazza had some sort of stairs that were either cobbled or narrow, so Casa di Mario was probably the easiest of them all, so no points taken of for the stairs!

Vernazza and Franco! The nicest stay of our whole 2 weeks trip in Italy.

Franco was the best host! He made us feel so welcome and assisted with so many things! It was my daughter's 18th birthday, and he arranged to make it extra special at the restaurant where he works. The unit is spacious. Clean. Perfect location. With lots of windows for breezy fresh air. Loved it in Vernazza. I would love to return here with the whole family.

Perfection!!

The property was in a great location, and was very spacious. Franco was an incredible host! He provided us with local eggs, fruit and breakfast food for our stay. He was very personable and met us at the train station to show us to the property. Highly recommend! Thank you Franco for your amazing hospitality

Great location - close to the station/village centre but quiet. The apartment was spacious and clean and had a lovely balcony with nice views.

Great place and top location

The property was much nicer than we thought. Well-equipped and very convenient. Could easily fit a family of four or a group of friends.

Due to its location, the place was very noisy and not so sound-proofed, which made it harder for us to sleep at night. We would typically wake up around 4-5am when the city employees would start cleaning Vernazza. On top of that, the communication process was a bit hectic with the owner as we didn’t speak the same language. The instructions for both checkin and checkout weren’t clear and properly established. We ended up confused a couple of times.

Great host, perfect base to discover 5 terre villages !

Very spacious apartment, walking distance from the shuttle point , train station , Vernazza center. Nice terrace.

The kitchen had all the necessary equipment , but there was a very limited number of plates, glasses (only 1 wine glass). You would expect enough for a family of 4 persons for 2 meals.

Vernazza is a beautiful place to stay. The apartment was a good base from which we could explore Cinque Terre.

We spent 5 nights here and would highly recommend it anyone considering a trip to Vernazza

The property is very well appointed, spacious and very close to the town. It is ideal for a stay for anyone planning a trip to Cinque Terra. Franco was an excellent host, met us at the train station and was always on hand to answer any queries and give advice about restaurants and trips to the other villages

Lovely

We arrived late and did not have cell service. Lucky for us Franco was asking for us after we got off the train. We were very hungry and he showed us to the restaurant where he works, stowed our luggage and served us one of the best meals we’ve had. After he helped us with our luggage and took us to the apartment. The woman who came to clean on our last day was also very accommodating and helped take our luggage down the stairs.

Silly, but the main thing I didn’t like was that there was no waste bin in the bathroom. Also, a little dated, but for the price, good choice.

Everything about it. The apartment was spotlessly clean. Beautiful relaxing place about 5 mins walk to town square and train station. Our host met us at the train station to help us check in.

For a quiet stay in the heart of the Cinque Terre choose Casa di Mario and it’s fabulous host, Franco!

We loved the location-far enough away from town to get away from any noise and close enough to all the action and train station. We were able to sleep so well with the windows open, no outside noise! The size of the apartment was great-it would be perfect for a family. Washing machine worked great and clothes line-dried quickly in temperate weather. Bathroom was large and well equipped. Hair dryer included! There are lovely views outside the windows including a neighbor’s beautiful garden. We were able to quickly access the trail to the town’s cemetery one morning and we were rewarded with a beautiful view at the top. Our host, Franco, easily and quickly communicated with us from the beginning of our booking through the completion of our stay. He met us at the train station and helped carry my wife’s heavy bag to the room (there are 3 flights of stairs to climb after a quick walk from the train station). Franco manages the Gambero Rosso in Vernazza and made sure we had a fantastic dinner and experience the night we ate there. Their pesto was fantastic and the entire staff was very kind! He also provided us with two extra towels to use at local beaches-a must have in May. He was so kind and the perfect host! Franco organized a complimentary breakfast for us at The Lunchbox in Vernazza that was perfect and delicious! He also arranged for us to store our bags at his restaurant (Gambero Rosso) while we explored the town before and after check in/check out. For a quiet stay in the heart of the Cinque Terre choose Casa di Mario and it’s fabulous host, Franco!

No air conditioning, but this wasn’t a problem for us due to the time we were there (late May). Franco did provide us with a floor fan for our room, too, that helped a lot.
