The guest house was spotlessly clean and in a great location Beverley was an amazing host going above and beyond recommending local sights, restaurants etc The breakfasts were amazing. Freshly cooked, plenty of choice and very filling

The location, the spacious room and bathroom. The hosts were helpful around our late check-in.

Unfortunately, our stay did not live up to the expectations created by the luxury price tag, and we left feeling that the experience did not represent good value for money. Some aspects of the listing felt slightly misleading. There were no robes provided on arrival, and the advertised spa facilities were actually located at an off-site leisure centre. While this may be useful for families with children on a rainy day, it was not the relaxing spa experience we had expected, with easy access to a hot tub and massage treatments. The attention to detail was also disappointing. We walked into cobwebs on arrival, and after a breakfast menu had been delivered to our room, the bedroom door was left open and unlocked. This made us feel uncomfortable and raised concerns about the security of our belongings. For a stay costing approximately £500, we expected better amenities. There was no option to order room service or arrange a takeaway through the accommodation, which would have been particularly helpful after a long journey. The advertised Twinings Boutique Coppice tea bags were not provided; instead, there were basic tea bags and coffee sachets. Small details, such as the Lidl or Aldi salt and pepper shakers on the breakfast tables, also felt out of keeping with the luxury image and price. The check-in window of 2pm to 7pm was also quite restrictive, particularly as we were travelling from eight hours away. Had this been clearer before booking, we would probably have chosen alternative accommodation. The Wi-Fi did not work during our stay, and the television was limited to Freeview channels and DVDs. At this price point, we would reasonably have expected reliable Wi-Fi and access to streaming services such as Netflix. Overall, the accommodation had potential, but the experience and facilities did not justify the price we paid. Greater attention to cleanliness, security, amenities and accuracy in the listing would have made a significant difference.
