The Howbeck & The Retreat 5min to Lake, Restaurants & to the free Hydro Wellness Club

Superb location, presentation / curb-appeal, cleanliness, and staff. The parking was very convenient and as we stayed in The Retreat Suite, was directly adjacent to our room. All staff engaged with were superb and nothing was too much trouble. The food (delivered to the room) was absolutely delicious; the menu options were fabulous and food beautifully presented. The spa bath in the Retreat suite was amazing, as was the room itself. We will be returning...absolutely fantastic place, made even better by the staff - thank you to all :)

The Wi-Fi was intermittent, although not a real issue. The suite itself was lovely for the stay we had planned - private, comfortable and with access to the private terrace area was a bonus (although is more 'secluded' than 'private' with the car park and staff steps being adjacent!). The bathroom was fabulous however the toilet is much higher than standard, so ok if you are tall! A fridge in the room would be a great addition - even if just to keep drinks purchased from the 'honesty-bar' in the guest lounge cool. All the pumps for the complimentary toiletries are in need of replacing as they were either difficult to operate or broken.

For the price breakfast should be incuded.

Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Flowers in the windows and location.

Maybe shower tiles could do with an update or removal of mould around bottom of the shower cubicle- apart from that the room was lovely and clean.
