We had a comfortable stay, and the location was very convenient for exploring the town. We choose the king room with the 4 post bed. The room was clean, comfortable, and well suited to our short stay but the noise from the bed is not suitable for light sleeper. This is a straightforward, no-frills property with the essential amenities, and it met our expectations. Breakfast was good continental buffet as well as freshly cooked hot breakfast options available to order. For international travellers, it's worth noting that air conditioning is not a standard feature in many UK hotels, so it's worth checking before booking if this is important to you. A fan is provided for warmer weather. Similarly, bar fridges are not commonly included in UK hotel rooms, so it's best not to expect one. As the property is an older building, some noise transfer is to be expected. Sound carries along the building, corridors, and the timber floors do creak in places. The property could have a lounge area where guest can sit instead to relax and not straight to the room. The outdoor area could benefit from some picnic tables as outdoor seating for guest who ordered takeaway and need a place to eat, other than their bedroom. The staff were friendly and helpful.

This hotel is in a great location and clean with nice rooms. It was quiet as well. Breakfast was great and the staff was very polite and helpful.

Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The hotel is in a great location and has a car park for guests. We brought two dogs with us and we would definitely stay again.
