The location is fantastic, close to shops, places to eat & pubs. It’s around a 25/30 minute downhill walk to Bowness. The staff were very attentive and always had a smile on their faces! Happy to help when needed. The breakfast was really nice, good choice of selection to pick from. Plenty of beautiful walks nearby which we made the most of!
The room was very small and not as clean as it could have been. The extractor fan was full of dust which caused slight mould. We picked the hottest weekend of the year and not of fault of the hotel but there was no aircon and we had a small fan. The windows didn’t open fully enough for the air to flow through. The power of the shower was really low, more of a trickle. The beds were not comfortable but we understood it’s each to their own with bed types.

The staff was amazing, friendly and helpful throughout our brief stay. The hotel was quaint and well maintained and restaurant served delicious meals. We had to miss breakfast, our train left before the kitchen opened.
We were exhausted after a long train ride and were disappointed to find the hotel had no lift or AC. The water pressure in the shower was low, but that's true of most hotels.

The location was excellent 👌
We stayed in a room (7) directly above the kitchen and from approximately 5am there was lots of banging which sounded like food preparation (I didn’t sleep from 5am) also there was a fan directly below our window and the smell was awful from the cooking. The room wasn’t the best as it definitely lacked TLC. The toilet seat didn’t fit correctly the mirror in the bathroom wasn’t good the lamp didn’t work and there was paint on the Lino. The whole room wasn’t the best tbh could definitely do with re-modernising. We felt like we got the cheap seats. It was my wife’s birthday so wanted to do something special I feel this spoilt it 😢
