Ivythwaite Guesthouse provides exceptional accommodation with warm and friendly hosts Andrew & Abigail. Breakfast was a highlight of the day with many choices available. A variety of restaurants can be reached within easy walking distance at either Windermere or Bowness. We really valued the local knowledge of our hosts on so many topics, particularly when we drove to the remote Hardknott Roman Fort in the Lake District National Park.

Lovely accommodation, looks great inside and out. Breakfast was nice. Owners were friendly and helpful. Loved the four poster bed, a unique feature that others don't have. The location is handy, a short walk to Windermere. A slightly long walk to bowness or jump on the bus which is just off the doorstep. We stayed here nearly twenty years ago, coming back I expected some things may have degraded but it wasn't the case. It's well kept and you can see the owners take pride in the place
it was during the heatwave and while to rooms were not oppressively hot, an upright fan would have been nice
