Beautifully kept quiet place; exceptionally friendly and helpful people; excellent dining at the nearby hotel; interesting ethnic breakfast; wonderful hike from the doorstep through alpine meadows to the Eagle's Eye viewpoint; half an hour's drive to the spectacular Struilitsa Eco Trail.
Don't be in a hurry getting there - the overhanging rocks of the gorge you drive through on the way make for a stimulating experience, but beware the many potholes. At the lodge, make sure you have access to google translate if you don't speak Bulgarian.
