Weird vibe, not the cleanest, further away than other hostels

The curtains around the bed in the 6 bed dorm were good for privacy, especially as I had a bunk bed to myself so it was like my own private area

Weird vibe, it was so quiet (although this might’ve been down to the weather and season) and even the staff barely spoke to each other. There were a lot of flies and little bugs everywhere that got into my food too. The open plan layout meant everyone walked through my dorm to get to theirs. It was a 15 min walk to the town, which isn’t terrible but other hostels are closer. I moved to Che Lagarto hostel and it was much better.

Nice place, good value and helpful staff.

The cleanliness was great along with kitchen, room size / quality and the pool area.

Not enough bathrooms for the amount of guests (not very bad, just a little annoying sometimes). Also quite a few families there with kids which I’m not used to in hostels.

Great Hostel with modern facilities and pool

Great hostel, friendly and helpful staff, modern facilities, spacious room and bathroom, everything was clean. Well equipped kitchen. Cheap laundry option. The old town is a short walk of just over 10' away, the bus station 8'.

A very nice stay in Paraty

Nice building with lots of outdoor space to relax. Very quiet too which was nice. Kitchen was good, well equipped and easy to use - it was also quiet which made using it easier. The room was decent, it got very hot through the day, the aircon took a while to make a difference but it eventually did.

The bins in the kitchen always had bugs flying around them, it made the kitchen feel a bit dirty. The rooms didn’t feel 100% clean, but given the price of the stay we could put up with this. It wasn’t located very centrally, a good walk into town but again given the price it is to be expected.

Nice hostel, unusual rooms, decent location

Lovely friendly staff, comfortable with cosy feel, loads of communal areas, great kitchen you can use stocked with basics. the vibe was quiet when we were there but everyone was nice, the staff provide details on local things to do. great big bathroom with hot shower in the private room, good natural light. Walkable to town in 10-15 mins, bus stop round one corner, bus station pretty close.

There’s no reception so if you arrive after 8 or lose your key you’re a bit stuck - make sure you let them know if you’re arriving late. One of the dorms is just the hallway at the top of the stairs with a curtain, everyone walks through to get to the other rooms, pretty cramped and loud. the private room is separated by a glass door and curtain from the dorm and the top of the “wall” is open to the dorm so it’s not completely private. it’s fine but worth being aware of.

Good place to stay and relax

Nice place to stay, felt like home. Easy to meet new people. Pool is perfect to jump in after a stroll around in the town. Laundry is cheap, 10R per load!

Hostel is clean and friendly, the grounds are lovely pool is a nice addition for a hostel that was really quite cheap. To top it off there was a family of monkeys that would visit every morning. Couldn't recommend enough

Location is a little out of the way but not too bad, about a 15 to 20 min walk to the harbour/beach

Nice stay if you are looking for calm

I was staying in the dorm and there is curtains every two bed, and I was alone in my bunk bed, which give a little more privacy but it’s not like that for everyone and every beds! The location is very close to the bus terminal station, it’s practical but a bit far from the historic center. The kitchen and bathroom were ok. The pool is nice.

There are A LOT of mosquitoes and any system to protect you from them. Be ready to fight all nights. DISCLAIMER: if like me, you are a solo traveler, looking for parties and meeting people, don’t go there, it’s super quiet and kinda boring…

Superb

Good location, a short walk from the bus station. Very clean throughout my stay. Staff are friendly. Hostel was homelike, very quiet and calm. I would recommend booking the 8 bed dorm because it is a real room and very spacious. the 6 bed dorm is located in the hall way outside the 8 bed dorm, behind high and thick privacy curtain. you will have more privacy given if you don’t have a bunk mate, but there is almost no air circulation because of the high certain, unless you are next to the window which might not be available when you arrive.

It's ok . For a night . The kitchen is well equipped . If you can put up with getting bothered by mosquitos all night go for it

The mosquito's were a pain . It's not hard to put a mosquito mesh up on the windows to avoid the problem . There is two bathrooms between alot of people .

not enough shower and bathrooms for the amount of people. also they asked to pay to leave the luggage inside a few hours until our bus after the checkout. most places don’t ask and happily do that when you have stayed at their hostel.

staff is really great and helpful. nice place close to the center of paraty, you can go in a 15min walk, facilities are simple but great and swimming pool is a plus. if you get lucky you can see little monkeys coming by as nature is all around

i stayed only 1 night so cant say much, maybe the bed matress was a bit hard

The rooms are in the attic, so it gets very warm quickly (but there is a fan). And when it's crowded, it's a bit annoying that there is only one toilet.
