Brilliant

A very large house more than big enough for two families with small children. Two adult bedrooms and two smaller bedrooms which had two beds each in them. The cleanliness and fittings were grand. A great find for Skye and good cost too

We loved the view, the location near Old Man of Storr, Portree, and Staffin, and the cute cottage atmosphere, as well as the sheep grazing in the pasture out back.

A well-located accommodation to explore the area

The cottage was spacious and the view of the sea magnificent. It was a shame that the weather meant we couldn’t sit outside to make use of the table and benches…. The basket of sweet goodies was a nice touch, thank you.

It was difficult to identify the cottage on the main road - perhaps a double-sided sign could be put up so the logo could be seen from both directions? Other than that, we had a lovely stay!

Taigh Rob -

Thank you for a wonderful experience. There’s no need to recommend the Isle of Skye – it is a uniquely beautiful piece of land, and like Irn-Bru – there’s nothing quite like it. In my opinion, at least three days are needed to see the essentials of the island. As for Taigh Rob, it is truly a pleasure to recommend it: it felt like a real home away from home. The hosts, Jim and Pauline, go above and beyond to ensure the comfort of their guests – from preparing the house before our arrival, to being immediately available for any questions, and attending to even the smallest details. The location is excellent, close to several attractions on the island, and serves as a convenient base for exploring Skye. One of the rooms is a suite with a private bathroom, which was especially convenient for the older couple traveling with us. Our only suggestion for improvement next time would be to extend our stay at Taigh Rob… Many thanks to Jim and Pauline for creating such a warm and comfortable stay.

Taigh Rob was a wonderfully comfortable house for our holiday. It is exceptionally well presented with good quality/condition furniture, kitchen equipment, linen and towels. All beds were extremely comfortable. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought and care into all aspects of the property. The welcome note and gift was kind and friendly. The owners provided lots of useful information, everything you needed to know about the property and Isle of Skye. They were available to help if you needed before and during the stay. The grounds surrounding the house were peaceful and beautiful as was the view of the sea from all windows of the house. The location was great and we would recommend Taigh Rob to anyone.

A great place to spend a week in Skye - a lovely house in a wonderful location.

The cottage was ideal for our family party of 6 adults and a baby, with an attractive and comfortable living room and dining room, well equipped kitchen, 4 good-sized bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms with showers. It was nicely furnished and a great place to hang out. The view across to the mainland (including Torridon mountains) is amazing, and we saw dolphins and a golden eagle from the house. It's a great location to tour the north of Skye, including the Quiraing and Old Man of Storr, and the astonishing dinosaur footprints can be seen at nearby Brothers Point, Staffin beach and Duntulm. We saw sea eagles on a boat trip from Portree. Our hosts had left us wine, chocolates and a lovely calendar of Skye, which were much appreciated!

Superb

A very clean and well equipped cottage with a wonderful view across to Rona and the mainland. The sunrises were outstanding as was the wildlife surrounding with Minke Whales, Dolphins and Porpoises out to sea, Twite in the garden, with White-tailed Eagles just five minutes up the road. We all slept soundly in the comfy beds and relaxed in the cozy living room.

Warm, Colourful , Clean house with breathtaking views

Taig Rob self-catering is an amazing place to spend your holiday. As seen from the photographs, it has some breathtaking and calming views from the house that simply doesn't do justice with a few words. The house itself was excellent where we found all the facilities that we need for a family for a comfortable stay. We found the house is exceptionally clean and tidy when we arrive, and the interior was very colourful and certainly creates a warm and lovely atmosphere inside the house. All the rooms offer a seaside view and therefore, you can wake up to lovely scenery in the morning. There is a lovely wooden table and bunk in front of the house where you can enjoy a lovely picnic lunch overlooking the views!!! Overall, we had a lovely week at this house. Also, you could walk up to the edge of the cliff through the sheep fields to get a panoramic view of the landscape as well as the house.

Not sure there is anything to dislike about this place!!!

We hadden een fantastisch verblijf. Het huis is val alle gemakken voorzien.

De locatie en de gezelligheid van het huis. En de vriendelijkheid van de eigenaars. De voorlaatste dag was er een probleem met een licht in de badkamer, en meteen werd het nodige gedaan om het probleem proberen op te lossen.

De druk van het water is in de ensuite badkamer aan de lage kant.
