Thank you Ben for our Magical Stay at Dounhuila House!

First of all, a big massive thank you to Ben and his family for making our stay at Dounhuila a magical one! The house was very well designed & spotless. We loved the open plan living space, the layout of the house and the location of house was magnificent. We were greeted by a group of deers right by the house on our first day of our stay. It was magical! Our host, Ben, was very friendly, welcoming & professional. He provided us with lists of different places to visit and great advices thought out our stay and we were super grateful for that. We can’t wait for our next stay at the Dounhuila house and have recommended to our friends and families to go and stay there if they’re planing a trip in Skye as we would love for them to have a magical stay like we have.

Wonderful cottage in Skye

The cottage was wonderful, well furnished, very clean and comfortable, perfect for 2 families of 4 people each (parents and 2 children). There was plenty of space for everyone! Ben has been really kind and helpful since the booking and throughout our stay. Nice welcome kit with special presents typical from Skye, together with fresh eggs, milk, delicious bread and homemade cake. We also saw a deer in the evening coming very close to our windows! We hope to come visit again in the future!

We were unlucky with the weather so we could not enjoy the garden, but this is not a property fault! The final part of the road to get to the cottage is a bit old with some holes, must drive very carefully.

Absolutely the highlight of our vacation in Scotland !!

We had a fantastic stay at Ben’s lovely cottage. The place was very comfortable and well. The thoughtful breakfast treats, including the bread, cake, and coffee, were delicious—thank you very much! As we don’t drink tea, we left it behind for others. Ben’s attention to the hospitality and checking in daily about our wellbeing and need for advice is outstanding. Overall, it was a wonderful three-day stay. Highly recommended!

An unforgettable stay at Dounhuila! We had the most incredible stay at Dounhuila on the Isle of Skye. From the moment we booked, Ben and his family made everything seamless with thoughtful and clear communication. The warm welcome on arrival, along with the lovely complimentary goodies, made us feel instantly at home. The cottage itself is absolutely stunning—beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and so well-equipped. Every detail has been considered to ensure a relaxing and comfortable stay. It’s the perfect base to explore the Isle of Skye, and also a joy to simply relax in. We truly can’t recommend Dounhuila highly enough. It exceeded our expectations in every way, and we’re already looking forward to returning. Thank you again to Ben and family for creating such a special place!

Fantastic stay in beautiful house in a top location with an excellent host.

Stunning location and excellent standard of accommodation and amenities

No major issues at all. Heating system (brand new)malfunctioned but Ben sorted it out immediately despite it being a bank holiday evening- we were most impressed! Could have done with a little hanging space for clothes in one of the bedrooms….. maybe a Nespresso machine in the kitchen…..can’t think of anything else!
