LOVED the location, grounds, inn and yummy breakfast and dinner. Staff went overboard to help.
Light in the bathroom had a too long automatic delay, so that was disturbing at night.

Beautiful property. Wonderful views.
Our first night was in a room like a hostel dorm.
We asked for a shift so our second was in a much better room in a bay window

We will definitely come back again with a little more time :-)

Has to be one of the best hotels we have stayed in Scotland.
The shower was a bit small for the size of the bathroom.

The room was very comfortable, and the views out across the grounds and towards the bay were stunning. I knew the history of the house, having lived on Raasay in the past, but had not expected the refurbishment to deliver such quality alongside sensitivity to the original build. There is a community-run walled garden that forms part of the property, and it was a joy to see the produce being grown that is in use within the Island's businesses (hotel, shop, distillery - even the primary school serve their veggies). Well worth a wander round during daylight. The breakfast was well arranged, self-service buffet with a good selection of quality food, and had we stayed longer we would have enjoyed a meal in the restaurant one evening.
Some particular mentions - "Patterns of Flora" is an art instillation mapping seven Raasay habitats that was evident around the building, very discrete but highly enjoyable (ceramic tiles illustrating some of the rare species of flora on the island). The guest lounge / library in the West Wing was a really cosy room, and became a place that we migrated to in the evening following a friend's funeral (the reason for our visit). It was lovely to be so relaxed that evening after the actual service and wake; many memories were shared, and I couldn't think of a better setting for us all. Upstairs in the West Wing was a well-stocked games room (pool table, table soccer etc) and I think for longer stays it would be good, especially for teenagers. There are a range of outdoor activities available through the family-led outdoor centre, and the staff are very accommodating of folk needed a lift to/from the ferry (although it's a short walk for foot passengers).
Whenever booking an Island stay, it is worth doing the homework re ferry timetables.
The hotel was perfect, met our needs in every way.

What a fantastic experience! As you approach from the ferry you feel like you're heading to a small Downton Abbey!
It was wonderful in every way!

Good location, liked the feeling of being in an old world home. Good size rooms.
Probably a bit expensive for what it is. Breakfast good but we were there just after 8:00AM & the cooked breakfast was barely warm. Room smelt a bit of dampness.

The care that has gone into renovating and maintaining this important part of Raasay history. The friendliness of the staff and commitment to providing great service at all times. Great good for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Nothing negative

The location is amazing and what Raasay House stands for and how they support the community of Raasay Island is the most important and brilliant part. The vibes are community driven and comfortable, with good dining options.
Overall the price point is on the higher end for the room, but it is understandable within the context of the islands size and population.

It’s location is indisputably out of this world, good enough for Charles Edward Stuart the pretender who landed in Scotland to lead the Jacobite revolution in 1745. The library is a must see and the ferry is a trip worth making. Our room recently refurbished was unexpected for the price and the view to Skye made up for the hotels failings.
However a shortage in staff and a very weak menu spoilt it for us. One bar man on our arrival run off his feet and one member of staff at breakfast trying to satisfy continental guest’s with a British fry up says it all. If I missed an alternative breakfast so did the young Spanish family.

The breakfast was nice, and the bed was really nice I like the library because I used to have fact
I didn't really like the bathrooms how it work. But I.

The hotel’s location is nice, but the lack of staff presence on Sundays made it feel a bit empty and unwelcoming. The staff were friendly, but the place came across as somewhat casually run, almost like it was managed by a group of friends. This feeling was reinforced by the young staff often hanging around the reception in a relaxed manner.

Drop-dead gorgeous setting, close to ferry and distillery, fine bar, staff obviously loved their work, everyone (guests) all seemed to have their own reason to be there

Great location, very room is small but cozy. The owner is very friendly and also gave us the laundry service. I felt home from the moment I walked into the room and see my name was on the board.
The tower is old and not very clean.

Loved the solitude, view and the helpful staff. I could feel the little island’s community spirit. Also, the staff was very helpful before our arrival explaining the ferry’s logistics.
For the price you pay, each room should have a refrigerator. The breakfast was out of our price range. However, the kind staff stored our milk and fruit in the kitchen fridge. Also, you’re stuck. The island has only one other dining option and the Distillery is more expensive than Raasay House. But at least the food in both was great.

We had booked activities that were cancelled just as we were about to leave. The restaurant couldn’t serve what was on the menu. I had expected more from such an expensive accommodation.

The location and views are amazing. You can wander down to the beach, visit the community gardens and explore the grounds and island with ease.
Staff team were excellent. Really welcoming, relaxed and very helpful with suggestions of places to visit.
Breakfast was great!
The hotel is very well presented, has a lovely cozy library/ snug with games etc and rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated.
The restaurant is a bit on the pricey side but based on the fact they're on a small island I guess that's understandable.

Location on the island, beautiful old building, friendly staff
Room was too humid, with some mold. We thought as it was marketed that they would have several amenities such as archery and bike rentals but then they were to be paid separately.

Its an excellent location, cannot get better than this. Rooms are clean, however too small for the price we pay! Could do better with this, however, I do understand its the only hotel on the island and hence pricey!! If you are a nature lover and don’t like chaos, this is the place for you!

Fantastic staff and superb room and en suite. Extremely comfprtable bed and pillows with great view.
The building was a little cold. Not cold enough to be uncomfortable and it could have been as we were there the first weekend it opend for the new season and it is a big property!
