Location is great, such a nice atmosphere living on a small island in the middle of old town.

Small rooms, not very comfortable beds. At the evening we went to the hotel restaurant and personal did not tell us the table was reserved for someone else lately, so they just throw us away after we finished our drinks and wanted to order food. Very disappointing and not polite. Breakfast is very poor, coffee is undrinkable. No parking.

Freiburg is a bustling town, but the hotel was a lovely base to return to each evening.

Perfect location - close to everything but set back from the main thoroughfare. Loved the canal side setting and the beer garden. The friendly staff were delightful - nothing was too much trouble. By our second day it felt like coming home!

It would be useful to let guests know that they can catch a tram from the station; walking with a suitcase over cobbles is hard work!

Perfect picturesque part of town, friendly staff, and nice room.

The coffee was amazing but there needed to be more variety and more vegetarian offerings for breakfast. The view and decor were wonderful.

The pillows were not supportive and there were not enough pillows. Lots of sound from people in the hall and the stairs.

A lovely little German hotel in a quiet part of town.

The staff was very friendly, and I loved the traditional German breakfast served in a charming little part of the hotel. The hotel managed to be both quiet and yet conveniently located within the center of the city. I liked the energy of the hotel restaurant with service just below my room and along the canal, but at the same time the room was buttoned up tight enough that you couldn't hear any noise with the windows closed.

It was a lovely 3 night start to our wonderful 2 week tour of Germany. Freiburg is a beautiful city

A perfect location in the heart of Freiburg. A lovely outdoor restaurant on the premises. It was a lovely, quirky place with a great atmosphere. A good breakfast.

We should have asked for a first floor room, as stairs quite difficult for people of 70+However brilliant staff who insisted on carrying our cases!!

The location is excellent, perfect to visit Freiburg on foot. Our room, actually a family suite, quite large an comfortable, well furnished and with excellent taste. Everything was very clean.

The rooms are just above a restaurant, which seems to be the main activity. In our case we were quite lucky with the orientation of the room, but it can get quite noisy in the evening. The personnel seems to be more busy with the restaurant than with hotel clients.

Easy to walk around old town, to the beautiful creek and see nice shops then return to homely accom.

This hotel, central in the old district, is an attractive older cosy building with a collection of interesting artifacts around the restaurant section. It is a very popular eating and drinking spot, the food is home style cooking so not fancy but good tasting. There a social hum you can hear when in rooms but not objectionable. There was no noise from other guests but we were in a top room.

The staff needed to pay attention to how many guests were on the booking and provide correct towels & toiletries each day and make up another bed. As we had a little kitchen, tea, coffee and milk could have been put into our room. If you have heavy bags or are not fit you might not like the stairs but a young man will help if you find him.
