Theth is a truly magical place—one that feels unlike almost anywhere else you will visit in the mountains. If you are looking for modern amenities, busy streets, and the conveniences of a typical tourist destination, this may not be the place for you. But if you want to step away from all of that and experience something genuine, peaceful, and wonderfully timeless, Theth is unforgettable. There is something about this small mountain village that feels like stepping back in time. The beauty isn't just in the dramatic mountains and scenery; it is in the village itself, in the slower pace of life, and most of all, in the warmth of the families who open their homes and family-run accommodations to visitors. Our hosts made our stay especially memorable. Everything felt personal and thoughtfully prepared, rather than simply being a place to sleep for the night. Breakfast was a highlight. It was prepared with such care and attention, with each couple receiving their own family-style assortment of shared dishes. There was something from every food group, all beautifully presented and made with what felt like genuine care. And then there was the sweetest touch: our own individual coffee pot, percolating right on the stovetop and brought to the table. It was such a simple thing, but it perfectly captured the charm of Theth—warm, traditional, unhurried, and personal. Theth isn't about having every modern amenity at your fingertips. That is precisely what makes it special. It is about the mountains, the village, the traditions, and the people who welcome you into their family-run businesses and share a little piece of their way of life with you. If you have the opportunity to visit Theth, go with an open mind and allow yourself to slow down. Embrace the simplicity. Enjoy the hospitality. Take in the scenery. This is a place that brings you back in time—and that is its greatest beauty. A truly magical experience that we will remember for a long time.

Location is perfect, very central. Beds are comfortable and rooms are spacious. Excellent dinner in the restaurant and nice kitchen staff (the mother and daughter). The waiter who runs the tables iin the restaurant (probably the son) is also nice.

Difficult to communicate with the father of the house. He tries but barely speaks English and isn't very welcoming or accommodating. The breakfast is really a bit late (8-9) for those who want to start an early hike. I did not even try to explain rhat we didn't want sausages with our breakfast (don't eat meat) because most communication with him ends up in misunderstanding or confusiom. The other staff / family members are friendly and speak good English though. If you eat in the restaurant, the food is very good but I recommend to start early, wait times can get long when it's busy. Oh, the rooms don't have airco which is generally not a problem except when it gets very hot. If you don't like strong smells request a room in the top floor because rooms at the lower level get a lot of kitchen smells when you open the windows in the evening to cool down.

This is a large guesthouse with an attached pizza restaurant. It's incredibly well run, efficient, and a good value. The owner is as hands on as one can be; I saw him serving food at dinner and he basically handled breakfast by himself. He's clearly very invested in his guesthouse and ensuring guests have a great experience. Overall, I highly recommend the property, and the margarita pizza.
