Maria (the owner) hospitality is unmatched. Everything is so relaxed and they take care of you like family. I really can’t recommend it enough especially if you are hiking Peaks of the Balkans. I reserved a dorm bed and was given a private room, breakfast and dinner were excellent. Clean bathroom, hot shower. You have the feeling of being in the mountains away from town and it’s very relaxing. I was able to leave my bags here for 2 weeks during my trek and when I returned they had my bags, gave me a free lemon soda and arranged an easy transfer back to Shkoder at the same cost as the bus. I would recommend this place to anyone and wish I could have stayed longer if I’m being honest.
The only downside is it’s a bit of a walk from Theth but this actually was nicer for me in the end because it’s in the peaks of the Balkans trek and so on my last day I didn’t have to walk all the way back to Theth which was great. Honestly, if you like a nice country walk then the distance is just fine and if you have bags you can probably arrange to get picked up by the host. I preferred this area to Theth anyways though the only real downside is you are much farther from the blue eye hike now.

The supper was simple and delicious, and they even packed a lunch for us. The atmosphere and culture of the building and grounds was very enjoyable.

Beautiful surroundings, clean, friendly owners and spacious rooms
The road up there could be better. But not really an issue

A spectacular location and comfortable bed.
We hadn't realised that dinner was served at 6pm with little flexibility. We had a very long walk that day so only arrived at 6:20. When we asked about dinner at check in, we were rushed down to the dinning room and didn't even get the chance to take off our walking boots. Dinner was disappointing and consisted of a small bowl of chicken soup and a selection of cold grilled vegetables. After having been walking all day we really needed (and had hoped for) a bit more, especially for the price. Water was provided in jugs but we weren't given any glasses so couldn't drink any. We asked for a second bowl of soup and this was provided but it was stone cold. When we checked in we were given the option of breakfast at 7 or 8. We choose 8, but when we arrived most other guests had already eaten and there were only leftovers available. We were given no service at all and weren't even provided with a plate. Thankfully we found a spare one at the other end of the able which we shared between the two of us, otherwise we would have had to eat off the table. Despite having booked a twin room, we were given a much larger room in a building a little up the road from the main guesthouse (no extra cost). The room was basic but comfortable, but the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned since the previous occupant (hairs all over the floor), and there was no shower curtain. Overall, we would have expected better for the price we paid (40E).
